Extract of sample "The Importance of Audience and Agency for Representation"

The different advertisements depicted on television and varied other forms of media suggest the growing divide amongst the people and the loud discussions of attacking, harassing and using abusive language for one another, merely on the premise of their distinctive cultural limitations. This has been shown in the recent times with the advent of the MTV generation which has created its spell all over America and the tremors have been felt in the third world as well (Diehl, 2011). The ramifications of these depictions within the modern world are indeed severe.

People have started to feel alienated because of their distinctive cultural identities. They have felt the pinch for all the wrong reasons. This has created a global divide of sorts. The consequences are very horrendous because rifts and fights have been created and these have had a very negative effect on the people who are suffering (Paavola, 2010). The ones who are creating havoc seem to contemplate that perhaps they are doing something good for just about everyone. Sadly, this is not the case.

The modern popular culture just cannot afford such transgressions on the part of the people who are inculcating the cultural newness in entirety. Something or the other must needs to be done to make sure that the modern popular culture remains free of the race discussion.
