The main areas that are evaluated by the situational analysis include the major competitors that include Nike, Adidas and Reebok. The situational analysis also evaluates numerous characteristics presented by the target markets, regulatory factors and global trends through discussion of website analysis. The situation analysis has presented Nike as the reference company in analyzing the other two companies in the sporting goods industry.

The website analysis forms the primary objective of the report, and it is incorporating the situation analysis to supplement its evaluation. The website analysis involves a critical evaluation of the online activities undertaken by the three companies through their respective websites. The website analysis creates a comprehensive comparison between the companies’ sites in enhancing their competitiveness. Adidas is recognized by their official domain Adidas.com, which has been in existence for the past 19 years. The domain status prohibits the transfer of client and is sponsored by Registrygate GMBH. The Adidas domain has some other divided domains that have different market targets in the wider sporting goods industry. Nike.com domain is ranked higher than the Adidas.com domain, making it have a competitive advantage in their online marketing. Both Nike Inc. and Adidas have many sites that target different market segments globally and they operate under separate domains with their official websites.
