Executive Summary Banquets are good because they give an event a focus, and the act of sitting and feasting brings people together, and this encourages easy networking and brings a natural relaxation. Also, the party makes the host have fun, smiles, and laughter which promotes positive emotion which results in meaningful memories that will last a lifetime. The work of the birthday host is to plan, organize and to welcome the guests. This paper will describe how to plan a birthday party banquet so as to make it a magnificent event. The party in question is organized to take place in Khalifa Park, Abu Dhabi with invited guests over 500. 2. Style of service In this event, English catering service will be used. This method also known as family style is suitable for this birthday party because the soup tureen (large dish) is placed before the host (birthday owner) alongside with preheated soup plates and the host then serves the guest. Also, the number of guests is large and therefore an individual can serve himself or herself. English service is normally cheap, and this will help in reduction of the budget. 3. Place and Table Setting The banquet style is round table where all the dishes will be on the table. The table setting in English is service is as follows: knives and spoons are placed on the right while forks are placed on the left. Wine glasses are placed to the left of water glass. Dessert flatwares are kept above the service plate. The first course is served on the table while the guests enter the room. The main course is placed directly in front of the host with warm plates who serves a portion of the main course. All sauces, side dishes, and vegetables are served by the guests themselves. The table below illustrate round the style where a table is surrounded by chairs, and this method maximizes seating. 4. Catering Menu The food menu is very essential for every banquet because banquets are about food. On a birthday, birthday cake is one of the highlights of the menu. It is important to ensure that there is something for everyone in the party. While designing a menu for an event, it is important to include a choice of courses with different varieties. This will enable guests to have a variety of food choice because there are those who require special diets. A four-course menu for this event consists of: Appetizer such as hot soup or Rosemary browned butter Salad- Asian Pear Grapes, Honey Vinaigrette and Gorgonzola and potato salad. Main course- glazed lamb chops and a combination of vegetables, chicken, fish, chips. Dessert- honey yogurt and blood orange source. 5. Consumption Time The birthday party will take place in the afternoon because the venue is a park and it will last up to 5 P.M. When the guests arrive, they will be served with a glass of wine as they interact with other guests in the Park between 2 P.M. and 3 P.M. Then after a few interactions the guests will sit at the round tables where they will be served with a dessert of their choice which could be hot soup or browned butter. After the appetizer, the guests are allowed to enjoy themselves through entertainment. Some will dance to the DJ songs while others will just listen to the music and chat around. After entertainment at around 8.30P.M., they sit down again to have the main course and a variety of English Dishes are provided at the table. After the meals, a desert is served. 6.
