Introduction Several leading organizations in this world are trying to capitalize on the potential business opportunities that have been developed due to globalization and technological advancement. Day-by-day, several multinational and domestic organizations are trying to consider new marketing strategies and activities in the business operation processes as the significance of traditional marketing strategies and activities have started to abolish. This essay will discuss about whether the concept of traditional marketing strategy or activity is dead.

Discussion The global business environment is becoming highly competitive due to intense market competition and high market saturation in the global market places. In addition to this, customers in this modern era are trying to consume differentiated products in economic price level due to recent global economic slowdown. However, the organizations are trying to develop and implement marketing strategies in the business operation processes based on the current market demand and customer preferences.

On the other hand, social environment of several global areas is also changing slowly and gradually. Technological advancement and globalization influenced several business organizations to adopt and implement several unique marketing strategies. Slowly and gradually, demand for the adoption and implementation of traditional marketing strategies and activities is reducing. For example, several large multinational, and small and medium organizations are trying to adopt and implement online and social media marketing strategies and activities in order to enhance high brand image and effective business performance.

Day-by-day, the number of social media and internet users is increasing at a rapid pace. Now-a-days, people used to consume product and services through online delivery process from the organizations. Now-a-days, people are preferring online order processing and online delivery of products or services due to busy time schedule in daily life. Recent financial crisis and economic recession affected the social and economical status of common people. Job cut and reduced purchasing power of people are the major consequences of these issues.

Therefore, people are trying to enhance easy and comfortable consumption process. In addition to this, these activities are helping the customers to save their consumption cost. Several organizations have understood the demand and needs of target customers. Now-a-days, people of young generation are habituated with the marketing through modern mobile applications and software applications. It is true that organizations can reduce the overall marketing cost through the adoption and integration of social media marketing activities in the business operation process.

In addition to this, these online marketing activities are helping the organizations to attract the new target customers towards the brand and its products or services. Digital media and print media can be considered as the traditional marketing mediums. Organizations, before 1970 got huge success through the use of these traditional marketing mediums. However, the organizations started to adopt and implement innovation in the market strategy development and marketing activities after the Second World War due to the technological advancements and introduction of globalization.

People of young generation started to believe in the creativity and innovation (Gralpois, 2010). In addition to this, demand for the habit unique and innovative marketing activities started to increase significantly due to the demand for unique and innovative differentiated products and services. Global technology industry also understood the demand of both the organizations and customers. Therefore, organizations like Apple, Microsoft and Google are trying to introduce different types of marketing applications.

These organizations are integrating advanced technology and innovation that is helping the business organizations to reach significantly to the target customers in this competitive business environment. People are getting used to several advanced marketing tools. On the other hand, number of television viewers and magazine readers is decreasing significantly due to the advancement of technology and software applications. Online marketing, online order processing, online delivery process and online payment delivery process is influencing the organizations to adopt these advanced and unique marketing activities to enhance effective customer services and customer satisfaction.

In addition to this, these activities are helping the organizations to develop a potential target customer base. Last but not the least; these differentiated marketing activities are becoming more significant comparing to other traditional marketing activities. Most importantly, these differentiated marketing activities are helping the organizations to gain potential competitive advantages over their respective competitors. Conclusion It is clear from above discussion that several organizations are shifting from traditional marketing activities to differentiated and modern marketing strategies and activities as these are helping the organizations to meet the market demand and needs of target customers.

High demand for online and social media activities among the people is forcing the organizations to avoid the consideration of traditional marketing activities.
