Cooking for many people today is a hard task, and most people are busy with other businesses that they do not find time to cook for themselves. According to Dubai: Remarkable and Ready for Business (2015, p.4), many people from the cooperate industry today prefer buying food to cooking since it is cheap and saves time and resources usable in performing other productive duties. The difficulty that exists in taking a whole family out to a hotel or fast food every meal time is a motivation for this research’s business plan. Going out every time is more tiresome and uneconomical. Therefore, my business is a Home Food Deliver service where I will be cooking different kinds of food depending on customer request and then delivering to each homestead. The customers will be required to make their orders within two hours to the time when they need the food delivered so that I get enough time to prepare the food and pack. After packing, my bikers will deliver the food to the address that the customers provide. The main target customers of this business are those who go to work and leave their children who are unable to cook for themselves at home. Such customers will be required to make their orders anywhere they are through phone calls and then provide the address to their homes, and I will deliver the food to the children. Another group of customers that my business targets are the unmarried or people who are living alone without family and have difficulties in making their meals. These groups of people will be in a position to make their orders, and I will deliver the food to their respective homesteads. I have a strong belief that many people in Dubai will like the home food delivery services since it will save their time and resources that they can invest in other productive businesses. For every business to withstand competition and win customers trust, it must have a unique service that differentiates it from the other similar enterprises (Sutton, 2012, p.12). My company will offer services depending on the customer requirements and give the customers a chance to choose the way they would like their foods to be prepared. The services will also consider people with special eating habits as prescribed by their doctors. For example, the diabetic people will have the freedom to choose the ingredients they require to be used in preparing their food and the ones their food should not contain depending on their doctors advice. There will be free lunch weekends where I will be delivering free food to the loyal and regular customers to enhance customer loyalty and improve customer relations (Chambers, 2008, p.22). The market profile consists of the characteristics of the people I expect would buy my services. These characteristics include age, social group, the location of the business and many other factors that the customers would consider to buy my services (Record, 2009, p.21). There are three main social groups that this business plan targets. First, the business plan targets people with small families with both the parents going to work leaving behind children who cannot cook for themselves. They can order food wherever they are, and it is delivered to the children at home. The second group is those newly employed people who are living alone in town, and sometimes come late from the job and tired because of the long daily hustles. These people can be able to order their meals while still at the workplace, and it will be delivered to their homes. The third group is the elderly people left alone by their families and have gone either to work or to school so they can make their orders and the delivery done at the right time. The business targets every residential area around Dubai and its environs with the restriction of about five kilometers from the city center to allow our delivery bikers to reach the residents on time. Another important group that the business target is the disabled or the physically challenged people who are unable to cook by themselves when left alone at home. The business mainly targets the middle-class people and the rich people especially those in the cooperate world to whom cooking would waste a lot of time and resources than buying food. Time is one valuable factor to both the middle class and the rich people as they usually view it regarding money, so they prefer spending money to save time (Kline, 2011, p.6). The latter is my major point that inspires the business plan as I intend to help this group of people in saving time at a fair price that is not worth that they would lose while preparing their meals. For the success of this business, I will need to have a strong and engaged workforce to rely on to meet and exceed the targets (Tresidder, 2012, p.23). The people plan should be strong and determined enough to deliver the results that this business projects. There are key factors that I will consider in sourcing my workforces such as the skills and the experience required, the organization design, and the number of workers I will need (Cipolle, 2012, p.17). The company will require three main groups of professional. The executive, who will include me as the manager, the accountant who will be dealing with the finances, the communication officer who will be communicating with the customers and giving the information to the chief caterers. The second group of workers I would need is the cooks who will be headed by a professional (the caterers). The caterers will be giving directions to the cooks depending on the customer requests. The last group is the biker who will be delivering the food to the respective addresses and bringing the raw food from the suppliers. The wages of every worker will be based on the amount of work that he or she does, and there will be an additional bonus if based on the individual’s performance. According to the Business Models and Writing Plans (2014, p.3), a good start-up business must have a good logo and the business name and a slogan that will help it identify the customers among the other businesses. The company name would be Doorstep Delivery, and the company slogan would be Your Meals is Just a Phone Call A DooRstep Delivery Your Meal is Just a Phone Call Away.
