Introduction With the increasing levels of globalization in the market which results from liberalization of markets, efficient flow of information, and integration of economies, the level of competition has increased tremendously. This results from the entry of multinational companies which have a huge financial base to segment the market, position their products or services strategically in the market, and attract customer loyalty towards their products and services. In order for the local businesses to remain competitive, they need to understand how the trends in the customer service are changing and the expectation of the customers in the market.

This research project will address the following research question; what are the current trends in the customer service and how can a business take advantage of these trends? This project will be significant in understanding how envy can understand these trends and take advantage of the changes in order to improve its competitiveness in the market. Furthermore, it will enable us to learn different customer services that are significant in developing a strong customer relationship. AudienceThe report will target the Envy Clothing Company which is in need of information on how to improve customer service in the market.

Through this project the firm will understand the different strategies that can be used to understand how to note any change in the tastes and preferences of the target market. Furthermore, the report will provide with recommendations which will give solutions on the best strategies to be used in order for the company to use the changes as an opportunity to increase its competitive advantage in the market. This will play a significant role in improving the company’s sales and the reputation of its brand name in the market.

Research methodsIn order to come up with an in-depth conclusion, both the primary and secondary source of information will be used. For instance, we will interview the marketing department in order to understand how they have been tracking the new trends and the interventions they have been making in order to ensure that the company takes advantage of the changes. On the other hand, we will use books, journals, newspapers, and credible websites to get information. However, journals must be peer-reviewed in order to be sure of the authenticity of the information.

These sources will be sourced from school and public libraries. Beside these sources, we will use social media in order to get views from the customers on different aspects that affect their consumption behavior. Moreover, we will enquire on what they look for in a product and whether they are easily swayed to purchase new products in the market. This will be significant in making well supported recommendations. Each member of a team has a different role. The team will be led by Emmy. Two students will be given the role of looking for materials, one will conduct interview, while the other will document the information being collected, and be responsible for the graphics into the report.

This will ensure that all team members participate effectively towards the success of the team. One of the difficulties that we are likely to face is lack of enough source of information. Some of the sources such as public journals, newspaper, and public libraries require subscription. This will lead to financial constrains. In addition, time constraint will be another major challenge. This is because getting time to interview the marketing director of Envy will be a challenge.
