Canadian Breast Cancer Foundation Canadian Breast Cancer foundation – CBCF, is a non-for profit organization known for its tremendous effort in dealing with the stigma caused by breast cancer. The organization formulates policies that effectively eradicate this bully. The organization traces its roots back in 1986 driven by volunteers who were for the idea of absolutely kicking out the deadly disease in Canada and the world at large. The organization has grown throughout the decades and sources its funds from sponsors- corporate, and the famous “the run “a marathon exclusively dedicated to the funds drive initiative. CBCF has also developed several criteria for determining the potential, ability, and credibility of the sponsor. CBCF should be able to protect the interest of the established long-term corporate sponsors against the new entrants so as to avoid conflicts and increase the pipeline for funding from these interested parties. This is the most agreeable clause the organization has come up with in guiding the relationship between the corporate sponsors. However the annual license fee charged by the organization as a form of pledge for the corporate sponsors should be reviewed and the fee brought down a bit to encourage maximum participation by upcoming companies that are willing to take part in the fighting breast cancer initiative that is somewhat restricted to big established corporations. Branding and subscription to the breast cancer cause should be made mandatory to preserve the image of CBCF in relation to its intended cause. This particular clause will protect the organizations objective from scrupulous corporate entities that want to benefit from the partnership in terms of marketing for their products other than driving the breast cancer’s cause. Question 2 Proposals in mind The Canadian Breast Cancer Foundation has received three proposals from various companies that would adequately work well with the organisatiion. The foundation received the first proposal from a vitamin manufacturer, a company known as Vita-King Company. Grape Vine Company availed the second proposal (Dudo 1). The particular company is considered as a connoisseur in the wines and spirits industry. FluidChem presented the third proposal. A company majored in the marketing of a washer fluid that was pink in color. The paper will provide an in-depth analysis of the proposals and come up with the best alternative that would aid the foundation.Analyzing the first proposal, which was from Vita-King Company, it becomes evident that the company had various objectives that were in line with the breast cancer campaign.In fact, they sought to have a partnership with a non-profit making organization so that they could be able to sensitize the public about the existence of the various vitaminsupplements that would aid all the individuals that suffered from cancer (Dudo 1). The company had also sought to develop a campaign program with the aim of sensitizing the public on breast cancer prevention. The main reason for the partnership was that Vita King was famous and established in the market. Breast cancer had been identified as an emerging and important issue in the market. The product produced by the firm was in line with the foundation, which would directly benefit from the association (Dudo 2). The second proposal was from Grape Vine Company. The firm operated from a different field. It majored with wines and spirits. Its main aim was to be the corporate sponsor of the foundation based on the wines sales that had generated various profit margins that the foundation would use in the sensitization of the campaign about breast cancer (Dudo 2). The main thing that the company relied on as a motive was its large returns from its sales. The third proposal analyzed came from a chemical producer, FluidChem. The Chemical producer was similar to the wine and spirits producer and distributor. They dealt in motor vehicle chemicals, a field that was different from the health sciences sector. It alsorelied on its profits as a mode of sponsoring the event (Dudo 2). If I were in the selection team, I would pick Vita-King Company because of the following reasons: The Company is in the health sector hence it understands the challenges that arise in the field. The company has a good reputation in the local marketsand it deals with the distribution of the various drugs, whichcan be used to prevent breast cancer. Thirdly, breast cancer was an issue in one of its key issues addressed (Dudo3). Fourthly, the company had the various experience and knew of the places where it would sensitize and promote the campaigns carried out. The company too was also very financially stable and would efficiently incorporate the foundation and easily consolidate their thoughts to have one ambition, to prevent and sensitize people about breast cancer.The other two companies would be dismissed based on the following factors. They both deal with different field of expertise. Little value would be gained by thefoundation from the market base of the two companies. They originated from different sectors hence their objectives could not be consolidated. Question 3 WHO World Health Organization would be a preferable organization that would collaborate with the foundation on the subject if breast cancer. The main reason I would propose the organization is its extensive coverage. It can facilitate the accessibility to remote areas. The World Bank also supports it. It therefore means that funds would not be a problem (Dudo 5). It also contains well-trained medical personnel who will assist in the campaign and sensitization process. It also has breast cancer as one of its strategies of sensitization. Oxfam International. CBCF should target an international non-profit organization like Oxfam international that deals that sole purpose is to eradicating poverty on global scale. This partnership would be beneficial in strengthening the funding base because the objectives of both the organizations is to source for funds to support their initiatives, projects and cause.
