Marketing plan Supervisor] Marketing plan Introduction Sonoma County Family YMCA is basically an organization that helps with the development of youth of Sonoma County. YMCA organizes a number of activities that help with the development and learning of children. Through these activities, a number of children and teens of various ages are taught the importance of values, and are given lessons on positive behaviours. More importantly, the organization aims at helping these individuals learn about the skills that they possess and how they can exploit those skills in a positive manner (YMCA, 2013).
Importance of marketing for YMCAReaching out to more individualsThe organization hosts a number of events in a calendar year and through these events the organization tends to reach out to children and teens. For YMCA, it is important that they are able to put the word out about these events and create more and more awareness about the services that they are providing. Without making use of marketing strategies there is a chance that individuals would remain unaware of the services that YMCA is offering (Rados, 1996).
More chances of donationsBy reaching out to a large number of individuals the organization may be able to obtain a greater number of donations from those impressed by YMCA’s work. With an increase in awareness about the services YMCA is providing there, new faces would turn up to their events and donate a certain amount of money (Rados, 1996). This in turn would increase the overall donations that the organization receives per annum. Maintenance of reputationThe services that YMCA provides greatly depend upon the reputation of the organization.
Through marketing techniques an organization is able to improve its reputation in the eyes of the mass population. Through marketing the organization is able to explain to the general public the values it believes in. In addition, through marketing YMCA would be able to put out a good word for itself and its brand. With an excellent reputation, YMCA would be able to increase the number of participants in its programs and even help the organization grow (Rados, 1996).ConclusionMarketing is a tool that cannot only help YMCA publicize about its activities and events, but also would be able to significantly improve its reputation amongst the mass population.
Furthermore, an improvement in the organization’s public image would help in attracting more event participants and with time would also significantly help in increasing donations.
