Design and Sustainability '' Product Innovation '' The outboard power units mechanical function The outboard power unit contains power tilts and trim units. This is a component in mechanical engineering that can be used to break or regulate electrical currents. This helps in curbing interruption of the current or redirecting it from one conductor to another. The outboard power unit aids homes in directing the required current. The power tilts and trims are driven by electro-hydraulic mechanisms with the power of a motor-driven pump that provides the hydraulic pressure. The outboard machine contains an actively charged trim function that secures the running. The tilt function is useful in the protection of the outboard engine. The hull on the outboard comes with ensuring the prevention of the engine being damaged by the shocking absorbing function. The project is aimed to develop and demonstrate both visual and non-visual technologies that will be used to monitor the outboards border. This project will enable the officers identify illegal electrical activities that are taking place at a low cost and with equipment that will also track objects that will not be seen by the cameras. It will also ensure the department continues to upgrade as technology changes since the change of technology comes with new ways of penetrating through security devices (Arndt & Kierzkowski, 2001). Threat and vulnerability assessment is an important process for any project to go through to ensure that when the project is over and implemented, it does not face challenges that could easily have been avoided in the implementation process. Most security projects are vulnerable to risks at three levels; high vulnerability, where a small weakness in a project could mean that the facility will be highly prone to terrorists or hazards; medium vulnerability, where the prone is somewhat in nature; and the low vulnerability, where the facility faces less chances of being endangered to terrorists or hazard attacks (Ferrell & Hartline, 2010). Graph analysis function of the outboard power units The process of market development is important in organizations as it provides a platform of the business to grow with the market. Customer satisfaction has remained the sole goal for businesses as they will attain sales. The aspect of market segmentation is also important in facilitating the development process. The use of AIDCA which is Attention, Interest, Desire, Conviction and Action is common in the process of development. A close look at each element is clear in marketing. Attention is important in marketing as businesses will be able to seek the most common aspects that will aid in ensuring customer satisfaction. Attention to small details such as packaging will ensure customer attention. Interest in a given market or region will ensure an organization does research on the interested products. Desire of consumer products also directs businesses on the direction to put their market analysis. Conviction aims at relating the needs to the current society as it produced the required product or service. Lastly, action ensures that the product or service is introduced into the organization (Ranchhod & Gurǎu, 2007). The marketing concept is used to attract potential customers. Businesses today apply the concept of marketing in a different perspective. Studies by Rialp (2006) suggest that, attracting, satisfying and maintaining customers are the foremost concern of many organizations. The use of market orientation is yet to be adopted by many companies. In depth analysis of market orientation in an organization is a key role to business growth. Customer attraction and retention is important for all the listed companies. Sustainability in making the products strengths The process of advertising is important in organizations as it provides a platform of the business to grow with the market. Customer satisfaction has remained the sole goal for businesses as they will attain sales. The aspect of market segmentation is also important in facilitating the development process. Lastly, action ensures that the product or service is introduced into the organization (Arndt & Kierzkowski, 2001). There are billboards in different towns that advertise the products and some give directions on where to find a shopping outlet and the offers that are available daily, weekly as well as monthly. The websites are also good advertising modes since the current rise in technology has seen many people and companies advertise and purchase online. The same applies for the product which has grown worldwide on the internet. This is a very good marketing strategy because apart from promoting the business it popularizes it. T.V commercials have also helped a great deal in marketing the company because many people watch T.V (Ferrell & Hartline, 2010). Marketing in comparison to the prices Price marketing enables the product to be chosen in a competitive manner. Porter’s five is a framework that models the industry with forces that push the businesses in various aspects. The five forces include supplier power, news entrants, and threats of substitutes, buyer power, and degree of rivalry. The five forces affect an organization in different aspects, supplier power may limit a business through supplier concentration, switching of the suppliers costs or the supplier volume increase. New entrants attract loyal customers due to their taste preferences and low pricing strategies. A threat of substitutes is a force that pushes the organization in terms of the switching cost, price-performance, and the inclination to the substance. Buyer power is a force interlinked to the ability of a customer to purchase a given product. The bargaining leverage, buyer information, and product differentiation are some of the aspects that organizations consider in the dealing with the force. The degree of rivalry is also a force applicable under this framework. The switching costs, exit barriers, industrial growth, and brand identity are some of the activities scrutinized under this force. Value chain is an analysis that describes activities occurring in a business. It assists an organization in analyzing the competitive strength of a business. The activities are grouped into primary activities and support activities. Primary activities include inbound logistics, operations, outbound logistics, marketing and sales, and service (Ranchhod & Gurǎu, 2007). Product design and specifications The design of the product should adopt different designs applicable on an online platform. E- Commerce is about communicating to the public using as online platform. Going online requires important aspects to consider as the exposure of the company on the online platform. Security is a major issue being online. E-Commerce enables companies to increase the rate of buying and selling of products from the company. Through the website, customers can find information on products, acquire the availability of products and purchase the products at their comfort. Buying and selling of products occurs on a 24/7 basis as one can reach the website anytime. The market for products and services is not geographically restricted as the internet offers connection globally. A company operates cheaply on an online platform, as no physical company is required. With this, the company operates at low costs while offering quality services. A company is easy to start and manage through e-commerce. Customers access products from different providers on one page without physically moving from one physical location to another (Rialp, 2006). Setting up an online but the bad sites created makes it difficult for maintaining customer loyalty. E-Commerce does not guarantee the customer of a quality products or service at there is no tangibility. Mechanical failures of technology cause losses to the company. It creates a negative impression on the company if the site is not available. Building customer loyalty is difficult since no physical interaction with the customer exists. The online environment comes with online hackers who look for chances to sabotage websites. This risks the validity of online payment gateways, service and losses (Ferrell & Hartline, 2010).
