Apple marketing strategy Marketing strategy of Apple Company Pricing With the current rate of globalization new markets have opened up as trade barriers have been removed and markets have been liberalized. As a result the company will use the skimming strategies of being the first company to establish the product in the new market. As a result the company will be able to position its products in the new markets. This will also play an important role in creating loyalty to the new target market and segment the market before the other companies venture in the market (Hill & Jones, 2009).

In order to attract new customers to purchase the products the prices of the products will first be lowered. This will make it affordable for the new customers to purchase the product before the product is hiked. This strategy will reduce threat of competition as the brand will have already have attained an advantage over other competitors. Diversification of the products in the market will also be used as a strategy to increase financial returns which will be used as a competition tool for the company.

The finances will also be used as an entry barrier to potential competitors in the same sector (Hill & Jones, 2009).Competitors and competition strategiesOne of the competition strategies of the company is intensive advertising. This is through the media e.g. television, radio, newspapers and magazines. This will work in ensuring that customers have adequate knowledge concerning the existence of the product in the market. Efficient distribution is another strategy to be used by the company which will involve agents, sales persons and different branches that are established in different countries in the world.

Another strategy that Apple Company will use to keep its competition level high is through constant communication with its customers through social networks and other communication channels such as blogs. This will help the company to have ideas of the customer’s behaviors concerning the product in the market. Constant innovation on the product is another important tool that will be used to extend the life of the products in the market. This will work towards reducing monotony of using the same product over a long period by the customer.

It will also help in preventing the replacement of the products from the market by the competitors (Hill & Jones, 2009).Product planning and evaluationDifferent products fit for different people (e.g. iPod for young generation, laptops for business people etc) based on demographics such as age; family location etc. in order to satisfy the market, the market will be divided depending on the demand of the product and the distribution of the target market in a specific area. After the market has been segmented and the products introduced in the market, evaluation process will follow to analyze the performance of the product and the possible risks and threats that might affect the products competitiveness (Hill & Jones, 2009).

Methods used by Apple Company to market its productsOne of the methods used is advertising using the media based on the target market that the media communicate to e.g. youth, rural people urban people etc. Sales people are also used to market the product as they directly interact with the market directly.
