1) How effective is the website in making it easy to purchase goods? The corporate website of Wal-Mart is a great medium for the company to market its products and obtain sales from customers in the United States and abroad. The website has a lot of links that direct its customers to different types of products. The corporate website of the company is very easy to use and it provides its users with a platform they can use to make sales from the company. The price structure of Wal-Mart’s website is equal or lower than the prices the firm charges in its retail outlets.

The website is very user friendly and it provides customers with detail inquiries when you press a subject. “A primary goal of any website or blog should be to provide its visitors with a pleasant and fulfilling experience” (Dailyblogstips). 2) Wal-Mart is moving more strongly into service areas such as its Ship to Site services. Do you think it is a good marketing tool for Wal-Mart to develop these kinds of services?I believe that Wal-Mart should expand into any area of business that will increase its sales activity.

The firm has grown so much internationally that it should be willing to provide personalized services such as ship to site services. Wal-Mart is a multinational corporation and the firm should be open to obtaining new clients in new markets by capitalizing on the brand value of the company. 3) What is your impression of the site in general. Is this a good retailing expansion strategy for Wal-Mart?My general impression of Wal-Mart’s website is that the company is doing a good job of expanding its business using an e-commerce strategy.

In 2010 ecommerce sales generated $152.1 billion in the United States (Plunkett Research). The company has to invest in developing its website to compete with other online retailers in the U.S. and abroad. As the biggest retailer in the world Wal-Mart has to capitalize on its brand value to generate more business from its online operation.
