Cisco systems provide a considerable percentage of all networking solutions around the world. It specializes in data, voice, wireless and security in networking. Social media has revolutionized the communication industry especially when it comes to advertising and marketing. Most companies have incorporated this new revolution when doing their communication. Cisco Systems is among the companies which use social media in communication information to their workers, investors and customers. Twitter is one of the social networks that Cisco Systems use in their communication.

@CiscoSystems @CiscoSystems is the twitter handle for the Cisco Systems Company which it uses to convey information to its investors, customers and even employees. The Company usually updates its tweets regularly where it tweets at an average of one tweet after three hours. As of 17th April 2013, Cisco Systems had a total of two hundred and eight thousand one hundred and twenty followers (Cisco). This is quite a remarkable number of followers especially for a professional company that most people know about.

The reason for this is that Cisco provides networking solutions for big companies so it quite hard for someone who is not conversant with the information technology industry to know of companies such as Cisco Systems. . This was a direct message to a Cisco System twitter follower advising him on how to ensure security in their network. This shows how Cisco Systems has utilized twitter social network to communicate to consumers by advising them directly on networking problems and solution. This has been effective for Cisco Systems since it has resulted in consumers who are their twitter followers to feel a personal touch with the company hence creating consumer royalty to their brand.

From this tweet, it is evident that Cory Ondrejka initiated a conversation with Cisco Systems through his Twitter handle inquiring how he would ensure that there is maximum privacy in his network. When a company is always in touch with their consumers it leaves a sense of concern that helps in ensuring loyalty of customers. Cisco Systems have used Twitter to ensure customer loyalty since it allows them to help their consumers maintain products they bought from Cisco Systems. Cisco Systems has also used the twitter social network in making announcements about its company to investors and consumers.

For instance, on 15th may 2013 Cisco Systems twitted that it has reported its third quarter earnings (Twitter). The tweet further provided details on how the company had performed. The link showed how Cisco Systems net sell increased 5percent over one year to 12.2 billion dollars (Cisco). This illustrates how Cisco systems has utilized the twitter social network to convey information to their investors and would be investors Cisco Systems has also used social networking effectively to make announcements about new products.
