?Poster Analysis By Presented to Evaluation of the poster on Euro 2012 The poster on the evaluation of the success of the 2012 Euro football tournament held in Ukraine and Poland is evaluated on the basis of racism and the success of the game. Personally, I think the tournament was a success because they ended without a massive event or negative event occurring. The challenge of the hosts was to develop the necessary support system. The posters try to indicate the various issues that affected the performance of the players and the host during the game (Baines, 2008, p. 45). The pictures presented to the fans are a true reflection of the occurrences during the games. For instance, one issue that affected a live match was the racially abusing of the black players especially those with a dark skin color. It posed a challenge for the organizers and even some of the players threatened to pull out. The poster covers the issues of fan trouble by having pictures of the fans trying to support their teams while they are half naked. In fact, fan trouble was caused by flares especially games to which the host team won or even equalized. The effect of the behaviors is represented in the poster by the addition of the different pictures of the poster. The poster presents both the success and failure of the organization while also handling the success of the host in handling the whole situation perfectly. The failure of the poster to bring out the details of the success and failures can be attributed to the focus of the author (Benioff, 2012, p. 67). The focus on the poster is about racism and the success achieved by hosting the continental games in Ukraine and Poland. This success can be seen on the poster by looking at the pictures associated with the poster which is limited to the hosting of the Euro games in 2012. Fabrication versus realism The poster focuses on the life in Cardiff city especially the nightlife. The distinction between reality and a fallacy in relation to drinking is the focus of the poster. The negative impact of drinking is depicted in the poster by the picture of the lady extremely drunk and lying next to a garbage dump. The picture explains the impact of nightlife culture (Beverly and Thomson, 2011, p. 78). According to poster, a distinction between realism and fabrication must be done otherwise the night life in Cardiff will be associated with over-drinking and negative public behavior such as urinating in public, indecency, and having a black-out in a public area. I believe that the picture may be sending a wrong message to others who has visited the city. Therefore, the authenticity of the story may not be easily understood by other audience. The failure to research and develop a conclusive result indicates the fallacy of generalization, which may cause a serious problem to the city image (Dagron and Tufte, 2006, p. 89). Bad behavior is an individual choice and not a social choice. Therefore, bad behavior should not be used to create a negative image about a place or city. The city should not be viewed as a benchmark of a certain behavior, but the individuals therein. I think that for a city to be evaluated on the basis of resident behavior, it must cover over 80% of the population. The facts on the issue must be clearly stated because it is the basis of the argument. I the society today, several prefabrications have been done as marketing or social control system. However, all these conclusions may be a fabrication. For instance, the association of rats with cheese is wrong because in reality, mice do not like cheese. Consequently, the association of drinking with negative behavior is wrong because it indicates a grand scale fabrication. Acceptable Face of the Past? National image is developed based on the past occurrences or events that can be associated with the country. One of the images associated with Wales is the National Eisteddfod which is considered acceptable face of the past. The past defines the present and helps in the creation of the positive or negative image. In fact, the past culture or tradition can be used to define the performance of the present. It creates an image that is associated with the country (Dorsch, 2012, p. 23). Countries across the world are known by the flag colors which are related to their tradition or an image of the past. Great importance is the attribute associated with the past. In the case of wales, the past face is the National Eisteddfod. It has been accepted as the face of the past and has been used in the promotion of tourism and other related products. The success of the whole process depends on the participation of traditional culture in shaping the image developed for the national image. The national image is created, which can be evaluated as the acceptable past is complex (Farris, 2007). The poster addresses the issues of acceptability, appeal, social effects and economic benefits. The acceptable face of the past is developed will the sole purpose of creating identity and image. However, identity does not add value to the country because it reveals the negative image of the country. For Wales, the power of choice is dependent on the ability to address the various issues of culture and tradition. The development of a powerful market appeal is vital in the country marketing process (German, 2011, p. 34). However, the appeal may be short lived if the tradition or culture does not support the created appeal. The image of wales used does not improve its global image as indicated in the poster. Cultural diversity in wales The acceptance of the different cultures and race is vital because it allows for harmony and acceptance of diversity. However, many times when we address the issues of diversity we tend to focus on the race issue. The same concept is depicted in the poster by the hands forming an octagon by holding each other. The language use across the world is different as such the acceptance of the global impact of the language and different personality is vital. In developing and accepting diversity the power of choice and respect is involved (Husain, 2012, p. 45). In wales, the Tri-nations rugby tournament was vital in the acceptance of the different cultures. I think the sport has helped shape the acceptance of the diversity in culture through acceptance. The use of sports to fight racism indicates the power of choice and the nature and influence of sports in the society. To be able to understand the importance of culture, the acceptance of the differences in color, origin and race must be accepted and respected. The poster addresses the integral issues in cultural acceptance which is founded on respect and trust. Massive success has been achieved in the cultural acceptance but several challenges still exist in the society. In spite of the challenges, the success of cultural integration indicates that acceptance of different members of the society (Learmonth, 2009, p. 23). The population in Wales has learnt to accept the societal difference. This behavior is reflected on the positive reception given to rugby teams originating from African and Latin American countries. The poster indicates clearly the power of cultural integration in removing or eradicating racism in the society (Mensah and Kiernan, 2009, p. 112). The development of the various games in Wales has been pegged on cultural integration and diversity creating harmony in the society. Amsterdamned The poster of Amsterdamed is a poster evaluating the problem of stereotyping. The stereotyping is both in young and older. However, there are challenges in stereotyping with the focus being in Amsterdam. The issues addressed in the Amsterdam society is the focus on younger children and older. However, several challenges exist in the society use of stereotyping. The preference of certain types of coffee, restaurants, food and clothing is viewed as stereotyping. Amsterdam is viewed by the youth and adults in a different perspective (Ore, 2000, p. 67). The power of choice is integral in the development of the individuality and society. However, generalization creates a serious challenge for the society and allows the creation of the fallacy of generalization. I experienced a stereotyping as I met friends and new members of the school. However, the major breakthrough in reducing stereotyping is based on respect (Schimtt, Spears, and Branscombe, 2003, p. 78). The poster addresses the issues of stereotyping and the impact of the age gap. The area of evaluation is Amsterdam city which is marked with both success and failure. The failure of the two is based on the perception of the inhabitants of the city with the main area of focus being on generalizations. The poster covers vital issues in stereotyping and the development of new concepts in the society (Roberts, 2005, p. 89). I think the poster does not appreciate the beauty of the city and the role of the inhabitants in changing and societal perception. In line with the changes in the perception is the development of the new image. The society today is facing a serious challenge resulting from social controls and influence of the media (Shaffer, 2008, p. 90). In conclusion, the poster addresses the issues of stereotyping with the main aim of changing the perception of the society (Sorrells, 2012, p. 34).
