The paper 'A Role of Project Managers' is a perfect example of a management dissertation. Today's world is characterized by major occurrences, including instances of extreme weather conditions, melting of icecaps, and largely ever-rising sea levels. The impacts have stretched from the environment to society, with scientists documenting these effects. Although there are no quick solutions to these challenges, great lessons can be learned to help ensure that society and the environment are not compromised such that current and future generations have the very resources at their disposal for greater fulfillment (Migdal, 2015).

Owing to these pressing issues, organizations have now realized the importance of sustainability, with surveys done on 1000 Chief Executive Officers from 10 3 countries focusing on 27 industries revealing that 93% of the organizations believe that sustainability is undoubtedly the basis for their success (Maas et al, 2016). On the same note, reports indicate that around 67% of businesses have not been fully committed to addressing sustainability (Werners et al., 2013). Therefore, these milestones and gaps in sustainability management point to the need for organizations and businesses to implement sustainability in their respective operations.

The concern by modern organizations to creating a sustainable society has shifted to integrating sustainability in their respective project management initiatives (Verzuh, 2015). As such, Martens and Carvalho (2016) argue that in the modern-day, research is now focusing on sustainability in project management emphasizing how project managers can integrate sustainable elements and principles in their respective projects. For this case, studies have also confirmed that for modern project managers, it is now a norm to be familiarized with some of the sustainability approaches and this compels them to equip themselves with proper knowledge and understanding of the skills as well as the expertise needed for implementing sustainability in all project management activities (Kiron et al., 2012).
