As such, Martens and Carvalho (2016) argue that in the modern-day, research is now focusing on sustainability in project management emphasizing how project managers can integrate sustainable elements and principles in their respective projects. For this case, studies have also confirmed that for modern project managers, it is now a norm to be familiarized with some of the sustainability approaches and this compels them to equip themselves with proper knowledge and understanding of the skills as well as the expertise needed for implementing sustainability in all project management activities (Kiron et al., 2012).
