The customers prefer the aroma of the best freshly roasted beans of coffee on their breakfast table. The company deals with the business of marketing and supplying free fresh coffee beans to offices, homes, hotels, cafes and other businesses in Australia. The company management and stakeholders have decided to hire a contractor for an Enterprise website designed according to the following requirements; A Flash multimedia animation site with a total of seven web pages that comprises of a video and photo gallery An Adobe premiere commercial video that has images, audio and relevant details that are embedded on the website for the business In the design and development of the information and technological tools, a lot of ethical and professional conduct is taken into consideration to have information that is handled in a professional and confidential manner. (Askew, 2011, p.31). This boosts the integrity of the company, and the well-being of the clients is taken into account. The stakeholders of the enterprise need to be sure that the information that is shared by the public in the IT tools such as websites and videos is genuine and accurate. The code of conduct stipulates the primary statements of ethics and regulations in the running of the public business. In other words, in case of a dispute, the ethical code will take preference. In the code of ethics, there is an act that protects the interests of the customers. Protecting the interests of clients Integrity and security of information By accepting the engagement, safety and integrity code of ethics, the design contractor of the website should not give out company information that secret to Coffee Beans Company. Giving out confidential information is risky to the business and could make competitors and enemies of the company capture ground and lead to the failure of the enterprise. Such conduct is a serious breach to the company. While the contractor is not subject to disciplinary action, the violation could lead to prosecution in a court of law in Australia. The customers will have the trust of the company due to the integrity of the information shared. For instance, the home addresses of clients should not be shared with the public. The security of the clients information should be clearly indicated in the website Potential conflicts of interest The design contractor should work with the stakeholders with respect. The interests of the business partner should be protected and in case of any breach, reasonable action should be taken. The content of the website should also not be intimidating to the stakeholders and the client. In the event of any abusive content on the site, it will lead to a breach of contract and the website designer will be prosecuted. Any physical or unlawful discrimination of the contractor must be reported, and the managers should devise steps to counter the vice. The information used on the information website should not have an adverse impact on the clients or the stakeholders. Confidentiality and proprietary rights of clients The IT contractor has the obligation to ensure the privacy of the clients. Coffee Beans Company has the addresses of the customer to whom they distribute the products. By accepting the contract, the IT designer should adhere to the code of conduct by respecting the proprietary regulations of the customer. (McDonnell, 2001, p.202). This will be indicated in the website clearly. The sensitive information should not be shared with unauthorized people, and thus should not have access to it on the website. Client communications While communication to the customer through the website, a lot of professional manners should be considered to avoid the vulgar or abusive language. This will boost the integrity and trust of the customers. All clients should be given a platform to present or report any concerns about any maladministration or corrupt conduct. The web page is designed to allow for an information or suggestion box that will have instances of client grievances submitted in a confidential manner. Producing quality products and services Coffee Beans Company has the duty to distribute products that satisfy the needs of the client. The needs can be either financial or operational. It is the obligation of the firm to produce quality goods and failure to which may necessitate a breach in the law. (Nazroo, 1998, p.452) The products should be in parallel with the value for money, and it is the duty of the firm to register with quality boards in Australia to ensure the quality standards are adhered to. The mark of quality should be clearly shown on the website and industrial and global standards that have verified their products should be communicated in the site construction. Furthermore, the quality procedures implemented in the production should be shown clearly on the web site preferably use of diagrams. Ensure correct representation Within the website, a webpage is dedicated to the presentation of the firms skills, experience, and qualifications in a professional way. The suppliers and business partners are also displayed so that the client can know the networks through which the product passes through, from production to distribution, before getting on his or her dinner table. (Gore, & Garrod, 2011, p.83) The information that is relayed on the website does not have any bias towards any of the stakeholders, and the financial estimates should be accurate. Copyright The digital media content will ensure that the intellectual property rights of the services are taken into account. When creating media, there should be no infringement or copying of the content from a third party. The licensing of the web site materials should be sought and the Department of copyright involved in the design of the site. Any digital media such as audio music should be used for gaining permission from the relevant stakeholders before uploading it to the site. (Barbra, & Marion-Davis, 2009, p.14).
