The plan involves the core beliefs and values that a teacher holds rules to be followed, among others. The following paper discusses my class management plan in a future teaching career. My philosophy To become an accomplished teacher as my future career, I have been reviewing and thinking about the beliefs and values that will be required among students and the general conduct of teaching practice. However, as the organization is one of the key components of my values, I will be putting emphasis on the beliefs about discipline, the management style, as well as the social objectives that my students will be needed to achieve. As one of my priorities, I will strive to ensure that I am as organized as possible to instill the same trait to my students. The primary objective as a teacher will be to ensure that all logistics of my classroom are as organized as possible to make the classroom student centered as opposed to teacher-centered. Further, to ensure that my classroom is arranged in an efficient manner, I intend to ensure that the class is variable by allowing some changes on the yearly basis. It will enable critical changes to be carried out on the regular basis. At the same time, one year will be enough to let students copy and adopt any changes that have been introduced. This is because I have come to realize that formulating management plan for a classroom is a work in progress which makes some values and beliefs come easily, but others will be reviewed in the process. It must be understood as the basics aspect of the plan to be effective, factors such as attention signals, correction procedures as well as encouragement techniques will have to be included in the strategy. Additionally, it will be instrumental to post a daily schedule that students will have to follow including working on routines from the start to the end of the day. At the same time, “working on transition” will also be included in the classroom management plan. The experience that I have in matters of the classroom has largely helped me to be passionate about teaching and class organization. This experience will also be instrumental when preparing the classroom management plan. For example in one of the training experiences I came across two different classroom structures where one was well organized, and the teacher was able to control students and teach without the problem, while the other one was chaotic and students were mostly unruly, making the teacher unable to learn or perform her work properly. The two experiences have taught me about class disciple, which expect to instill in students. The study shows that a class composed of unruly students can be smoothly run, and the students will be forced to miss a lot. Based on the above personal experiences, the rules that are described below are going to be helpful for both the teacher and the students. In my earlier belief, I thought that arriving at school on time for students was a nonnegotiable rule. However, my experience from different analysis of various schools has proved me wrong since in most cases it is problematic c to belief or force students to come to school in time. This proves to be a narrow-minded believe and questionable opinion that may lead to disagreements between teachers and students. One of the key rules that I will introduce in my classroom is that all students will be required to respect each other unconditionally. This is because students have different life experiences and social background, which must be appreciation to have a strong bond and good learning relationship in learning institutions including in classrooms. Finally, I appreciate that one of my philosophies of life is honesty, which is the best policy. As an honest person, I will also strive it ensure that all students exercise this important virtue while interacting with each other. My intention will be to create a classroom where lying will never be an option of getting his or her way. The objective is to minimize conflicts and disagreements thus necessitating problem-solving process. Organization of the Physical Environment As noted above, I am an organized person who would like to see the student become good organizers. However, this is not possible if they are not taught how to organize their classroom and other activities. For this reason, I intend to ensure that the classroom is arranged in a “U” shaped configuration. This will provide enough spaced for students and teachers to move freely. At the same time, it will provide conducive arrangement that will encourage constructive discussion and interaction. At the same time, “U” shaped configuration is instrumental in ensuring that the teacher can easily lead the students (Wong, 34). Further, this style is adaptable in both small and large groups of students. The “U” shaped form will thus be applied in all situations where students are discussing inform of groups for classwork activities. In the “U” shaped configuration, the arrangement will ensure that there are no impediments between the teacher, chalkboard, and the students. At the soma time all file cabinets, cubbies, cupboards, and desk drawers sold to be, marked with the name of equipment, materials or supplies they contain, hire the frequently used materials will be stored in most accessible areas. Additionally, the desk used by the teacher will placed at the back of the room and of the way to avoid any distraction. On the other hand, posters and designs will be used in covering the walls with soothing shades that provide educational, textual, artistic motivation to students. However, although the wall art will intend to offer relief to the bare wall, it will do with caution to avoid distraction. The artwork will include recent or upcoming events as well as topical issues such as prevention of drugs among other social issues. The windows of the class will be hung with curtains and while plants will be placed in different parts of the room. This will be to provide a lively atmosphere among students and the users of the classroom. Finally, if space will allow, I will provide a quiet area packed with comfortable seating, rug as well as the lamp that are separated from the rest of room by a divider such as a bookcase. The area will be used as a timeout space or as a reward center. Attention Signal Attention signal is a strategy applied by a teacher to alert students that they are supposed to be attentive at all times in class. In this case, I intend to teach my students that they need to perform rhythmic clapping when necessary. The intention is to avoid sleeping or dozing during class sessions. The style is helpful since it involves physical movement and students’ attention (Ertel, 22). At the same time, it helps students to become lively and focused. On the regular basis, students will be required to start the clapping ta the beginning of the class and in the middle of the sessions when the teacher sees appropriate. The attention signal will also be accompanied by words, which will ensure that all students are participating. The signal will be used in class to avoid frustrations that teachers go through when they need concentration from students. Classroom rules The establishment of rules and social expectations will be one of the first components of my classroom management plan. The process will include students to provide room for understanding and agreement. To conduct the process in a participatory manner, the first day students will arrange themselves in circles “U” shaped style and I will lead e-discussion. Each student will be asked to bring forth opinions, which will be outlined, by the one of the students. The list of rules will be agreed upon and then posted on the wall of the classroom, websites, and in printed form for reference... the general rules that I will let the students incorporate will include: 1. Respecting your teacher and your classmates 2. Following the directions immediately 3. Keeping your hands and feet to yourself 4. Always doing your best in class and other school activities 5. Asking for permission before speaking during class sessions It is important to note that the above rules and any other that will be included shall be reviewed per week or at a time deemed necessary. However, the rules will be repeated in class to allow students understand and easily follow them. Daily Schedule The objectives of having the regular schedule will be to ensure that the teacher and the students are aware of what is expected in the day. The daily schedule will be posted on the notice board, and any review or corrections will be done at the right time to allow students time to adjust. Daily schedules will be instrumental in assessing what have already been done and the remaining work. Therefore, the teacher can review and evaluated his performance as well as making corrections where necessary. It will also play a critical role in helping students prepare for classes in advance and reading ahead, thus necessitating learning. Correction Procedures The aim of applying correction method will be to prepare VIN advance for behaviors that are not allowed in class. On this note, I will formulate a table as shown below to categorize the kind of behavior and the steps that need to be taken. However, most of the contents of the plan will involve organization and discipline.
