Decision-making is quite essential in daily life for it affects the course of actions individuals opt to take.

Notably, the first impression as the general manager of the club as to how to handle Jessica and the members is as detailed; find the background information regarding both parties to find a basis for decision making (Montague, 2006). Typically, been the general manager tends to be amongst executive managers at the firm. This implies little know-how regarding Jessica and her approach on things as well incapability to understand how members relate and perceived Jessica's model of governance. Therefore, the first impression as to how to handle Jessica and the members would imply seeking to understand the background information. This ensures availing of facts that enable a better understanding of both parties to find a basis for making an informed decision.

Eventually, the general manager personality type is reflective of the first impression as follows; being reliant on knowledge and experience prior to decision making (Klein, 2017). Basically, the first impression as to how to handle Jessica and the members is dependent on finding background information regarding the parties of concern. My personality dictates experience and knowledge prior to decision-making or deciding on the course of action to take. Therefore, the personality dictates the capability to extract as much information regarding the subjects as possible to ensure the availability of background information to ensure informed guidance necessary in handling the case. This aligns with personality type which dictates the first impression approach on what to look for first.

Typically, regarding the manner in which general manager personality relates to Jessica, there is a distinct line demarcating the two. For, the general manager personality is based on experience and rule of reasoning. Hence, he will tend to acquire background information first, interact with both parties prior to funding decisions. This is very unlike Jessica who personality is based on emotion and feelings in preference to logical thinking and reasoning. Therefore, Jessica is evident to belong to typology to rely on feeling in preference to thinking (Montague, 2006). For, the lady despite 20 years of experience working along with male counterparts at the club has her model of approach change drastically. The drastic change leading to her poor behavior was attributed to her feeling that her male counterparts are downplaying her due to her gender.

Indisputably, the phenomenon tends to bring about a call for decision-making that tends to fall outside the comfort zone. This entails the decision the general manager happened to make that made him feel outside his comfort zone; having to direct Jessica to contain her feeling and act duly per powers manifested in her. The decision made the general manager feel outside his comfort zone given that he had to direct Jessica, a director to control her feelings and emotions when approaching her male counterparts to ensure enhanced collaboration (Klein, 2017). Basically, directing someone to control emotions and feelings is quite uncomfortable to move given that it can be viewed as intruding into someone’s personal life.

Notably, the general manager's emotional reaction to Jessica's reply to his inquiry entails; empathy. Typically, with a critical evaluation of Jessica's scenario, the director seems to be agitated by the fact that she is female. Therefore, she holds the feeling that her counterparts are downplaying her capability given her gender. Therefore, to counter this perceived notion, she tends to micro-manage and practice direct manipulation on her subordinates which they down not gone down well with them. Hence, having knowledge of the case background information, tend to be empathic to her despite somehow rude replies given that emotions have got a better part of her.

Nevertheless, the gender seems to influence the general manager's initial reaction to Jessica's response regarding the recitation of members’ comments (Sanz de Acedo Lizárraga et al. 2007). For, the men perceived to be superior to women hence perceived as better managers.
