BC is a Non-Profit Public sector organization founded by Qatar Development Bank (QDB) and Silatech. These are two different companies; QBD is a Qatari bank that aims to invest in economic and social development projects. Silatech, on the other hand, is a Middle Eastern company with offices in almost all Middle Eastern countries. Silatech is a career consultancy company that helps new businesses and young people with a wide range of work skills. Silatech entered Qatar by partnering with QDB, and that is how the Bedaya Center came up.
BC provides two main services: Career Development and Entrepreneurship. The career development program focuses on young graduates and students who will be going into job-hunting very soon. BC helps these individuals to make the right career choices. When a student joins BC, he or she goes through a 5-step process. Firstly, through an assessment test, BCs professional advisors help students identify their strengths and weaknesses such as identifying career interests, ambitions, and skills. Based on stage one, the advisors help individuals explore their career options and assess their viability. That will helps in narrowing down career alternatives. Each alternative is then analyzed by doing a cost-benefit analysis. There are many sub-stages within these stages such as training sessions, workshops, and lectures. Students also get to learn work-based skills such as report writing, forecasting, market research, and IT skills.
The entrepreneurship services aim to equip young individuals with the skills and resources they need to develop new ideas, innovate and start their own business. Students enrolled for this service may go through 5 stages. Firstly, BC advisors help in developing new business ideas, identifying business opportunities, and finding new niches. Second, BC advisors help with conducting market research to assess the feasibility of the business idea developed in stage one.
