Strategic Planning: Emmanuel Medical Center Affiliation Strategic Planning: Emmanuel Medical Center The Emmanuel Medical Center is a community based hospital. The success of the medical institutions is hugely affiliated to its community aligned practices and services. For years, this has been the main objective of the medical center. The focus on the community has limited its diversification to more markets. For instance, the medical institution has made limited strides to create significant impact in foreign markets.
In an argument by Gofin & Gofin (2010) entrant in a foreign market increases the ability of an organization to develop diversification. The author further asserts that diversification for medical institutions is important in that it enables the organization to realize more advances and trend in the industry (Gofin & Gofin, 2010). The selection of this gap is based on that the medical institution has invested heavily in community development strategies and disregarding diversification. In regards to medical neighborhood strategies, diversification is required to increase the ability of a medical institutions to improve its service delivery to the community.
Harrison (2010) points out that the need for diversification increases the relevance of a medical practice. The community being targeted may benefit more if more advances and medical innovations are realized (Harrison, 2010). The mission and vision statements depict the exact requirements to succeed in new medical neighborhood. The mission statement depicts the need and requirement of the medical center to provide medical care to patients at their best ability (Emmanuel Medical Center, 2015).
The vision statement is also neighborhood medical friendly as it states the efforts of the medical center to provide care to the community. However, the value statements do not include the recognition if the importance of the community in regards to providing quality medical care.ReferencesEmmanuel Medical Center. (2015). Mission.
