Dynamics of Leadership Being a leader reflects a responsibility such that those who are chosen to lead others has to ensure that they are satisfied and appreciate him or her for being their good leader in many things. Leadership is a process and cannot be achieved in one day. Some historical speeches by competent leaders are inspiring and just seem relevant until today for young and old people with passion to be successful leader. Excerpt “The Man in Arena” written by Theodore Roosevelt is one of among inspiring speeches that explain a leader from the beginning. This excerpt explains about being self-confidence enough as a leader and working diligently enough and if achievements still fail, at least the leader has failed while daring greatly. Therefore, a leader goes again, picks him or her up and tries again. In the excerpt: Leadership was conveyed by relating a leader with A Man In Arena who does not count the many times he stumbles regardless of how strong he is or how a good leader could have done things. A man in arena has his face marred by dust, sweat and blood, who strives valiantly,errs,becomes short and short again since there is no effort without error and shortcomings: but a leader who strive to do the deeds with great enthusiasm. Such leader end up with triumph of great achievement and if at worst he fail, he fail while daring. This excerpt teaches us that though leaders fail while trying to achieve deeds, they should not get tired of trying often. It has encouraged me to be doing things diligently, with passion and NEVER give up trying. Leadership style is a style of providing, direction, implementing plans and motivating people. There are three quiz resultsabout what is your leadership style and explains leadership styles used by leaders. The first quiz is about authority the leader during decision-making. The leader is supposed to involve people under him or her to be fully involved in decision-making. The result of the second quiz is always considering the suggestions made by other people and if they are applicable, a leader should implement them. Third quiz results to a leader be involved at all time in directing people on what to do, how to do it and when it should be done (Marrow 179). When we practice all these leadership style, we are assured of successful leadership because we will be avoiding leadership that is authoritarian and embracing democracy where everyone has the right to contribute positively to better leadership. The quiz results helps us to handle our life responsibilities in a fair minded way when it comes to judging conflicting issues, broad-minded by seeking diversity of options such as considering their suggestions, intelligently by seeking challengingassignments, competent by basing actions on reasons that are morally principled and always be inspiring to others to boost their morale. Moreover, results of the quiz can help us to be successful leaders and role model to other upcoming leaders. The reason we would opt to change or modify our results the quiz about on the basis of involving everybody in making the final decision especially where the people involved have a negative motive that can ruin the existing good leadership. Processes and Strategies of Renewal for Individuals and Organization Employees need processes and strategies that will help them have a healthy working environment. Therefore, starting occasions for bench matching with those individuals and organization that a visible evidence of achievements in their career as leaders will help them transform and renew their attitude towards their obligation. Mostly leaders are the important individuals that a retreat should be organized for renewal. Retreats for the leaders are essential since they provide an opportunity to boost their morale, commitment in their mission, be able to create mutual understanding essential in staff cohesion and retention. To achieve all these amongst leaders, the best place for retreat can be in seminars where there is a casual relaxed environment. Different leadersmeet to exchange ideas on skillful leadership that have helped them achieve their goals. During retreat, various activities would take place. These activities would include: 1). Asking them on their perception on the organization. For example, does the organization policy functional? By getting their perception will help the organization perceive attitude of its operation in different point of view.2). Measure contribution of the organization to the society by asking them to write down those achievements that have been realized by the society from the organization.3). Measure the strengths and weaknesses of the organization. This will help the organization to identify characteristics its staffs are proud of and lowers their morale respectively. Leadership Motivation and Leadership Approach When the term leadership comes in our mind, we think of responsibilities associated to leading people. Our primary motivations include: have moral qualities that can be emulated by people that we lead. Moral qualities such as moral courage and integrity that is admirable in our work. We are motivated to gain popularity from individuals to the community. We think that being popular reciprocate our good and admirable leadership. When we practice moral qualities in our leadership and practice intelligence, broad-minded, fair-minded, diligence and inspiration to the people we lead and the reply by emulating us we can become legendary leaders in our history. Such leadership approach can be referred as quality approach that resemblesContingencytheory (Adair 15). Talents and Leadership Development of leadership potential depends on application of those skills that are learnt and gifted for effective leadership. Once a young person has been recognized has the potential of leadership right from the learning institutions, they should be helped by nature their gifts to perfection on effective leadership. Some of the gifted qualities such as thinking skills should be strengthened at their early stage for the young gifted leader to gain competence to perform more effectively in their leadership. Developing creative leaders who are talented will help to curb various challenges faced by leaders who try leadership from what they are taught. A prospective leader needs to have good interpersonal communication skills to be able to work well and have influence to other people he or she leads. These skills have the greatest importance in molding healthy future image of talented leaders. Building of gifted leadership also help to develop cognition skills through exploration, specialization through a broad exposure in leadership severally, have investigative skills through training which will assist in research to equip the young leaders with long-life acquisition of new skills and information. Lastly, building of leadership talents at the early stage help in developing the leader’s problem-solving and decision -making skills through development in problem perception and definition, incubation, creative thinking, analysis, evaluation and implementation and practicing independence, confidence, responsibility, task commitment and moral strength respectively. These strengths in leadership building up skills will help us have potential leadership qualities (Harry 10-24). Communication Styles and Leadership Effectiveness Sometimes we are faced with communication situations that depend wholly on our communicational style and are sensitive to our interpersonal relationship. As leaders when we are faced by a communication situation that the whole community rely on our final decision about a sensitive such as how to maintain peace in the community. We have the obligation to portray leadership effectiveness by using aggressive communication style to express our anger as leaders to those who are ruining the peace in the community as a warning to them to STOP that behavior. Such response have an impact on solving the problem because the “voice “of the leader acts as the “voice of the community” and the would be no change on this approach since it expresses the bitterness of non-existence of peace in the community since peace is a mandatory policy in the community to provide a mutual relationship among people of the society for developments to take place.
