The paper “Hong Kong Airport - Human Resources Management, Design and Integration of Numerous Runways" is a sapid example of an assignment on management. Gong Kong is an international center for the movement of humans and goods in terms of air transport. The Airport is the central airfield in this region. The airport is the biggest and busiest in terms of transport and infrastructure across Asia. Its 24-hour operation is managed by the Airport Authority Hong Kong. It is used as a stop-off point for several voyages and airlines such as the Virgin Atlantic and Singapore Airlines.

The former Hong Kong International Airport, constructed in 1925, endured several changes before the construction of the new airport in 1998. How they build the airport? -how many years they were building it?Land, in the island of Chek Lap Kok, was reclaimed for the creation of the airport. After considerable research by the civil aviation department and other relevant aviation departments, the region was recognized as a conceivable airport replacement location. It was built on an artificial island that involved the leveling and reclamation of land.

The authorities finalized its master plan in the early 1980s. Although specialist gave it a 10-20 year timeline, the airport was built in approximately eight years. Railways and roads were among the structural considerations in the completion of the airport. The airport has been in operation commercially since 1998.Problems facedSeveral problems were faced when building the airport. Firstly, the project was shelved because the government apparently suffered financial constraints. Later, there was three design considered: maintaining the existing airport at Kaitak, a new airport in the Western Harbour, or at Chek Lap Kok.

After much deliberation, they decided on a replacement airfield. Hong Kong’s transfer of sovereignty to China was also an issue of deliberation. For this reason, the airport construction, which was to take standardly 20 years, was rushed in a seven-year deadline. The future of the airport was indeterminate after the handover of sovereignty. Although the construction was not completed in the projected time, there was a grace period given that quelled any tensions of it not being completed.

Secondly, it was located in a densely-populated region in Kowloon, which provided inadequate room for development or expansion. This provided structural challenges for the designers who had to link it with roads and tunnels. Problem with the old airportThe old airport, Kai Tak Airport, is the predecessor of the new Hong Kong international airport, colloquially referred to as Chek Lap Kok Airport. The steady increase in air traffic meant that the airport became busy to the point where there were several interruptions in transport.

It reached a point where passenger and cargo transport exceeded the levels that the space in the airport could handle. To make matters worse, there was only one runway. As a result, there was inadequate space for activities to be coordinated on time. In addition, the noise levels were not addressed appropriately, triggering a prohibition of night-time travel. Through this restriction, the transport was at a considerable disadvantage. Who the airport linked to the city? The airport is an important link that serves as a route for passengers and shipments through Asia and a significant concentration to China.

It has 44 destinations to China. Hong Kong International Airport is the busiest globally in terms of cargo transportation. The road and railway system provide express links to the city. Conclusion With an innumerable number of employees, counting to tens of thousands, the airport considerably contributes to Hong Kong’s economy. Its design and integration of numerous runways ensure 24-hour operation. The airport is an architectural magnificence that remains to be the most noteworthy constructions in the previous decade.
