Airport and Security Trends The security systems in Airports need to be advanced so as to increase the safety ofthe passengers and also to ease the travel delays that are currently experienced. However amidst all these advancements, it is important to balance passengers’ security and their privacy. Most of the advanced security measures in airports tend to collide with the pressure to protect the passengers’ privacy and the effort to reduce federal spending. However, most of the advances in technology solve and reduce budget issues because the human resources and their expenses are reduced.

Nixon (2015) acknowledged that passengers that use wrong exists in Airports pose major security threats. For instance, flights might be cancelled, or other activities hindered until victims are located. These instances often cause disruptions and make the Airport incur a lot of expenses. The use of Video Surveillance software will provide a better way to identify threats and breach security. The Video surveillance software does not only identify passengers using wrong exists but it also identifies suspicious behaviors and packages.

Even with the use of Video surveillance software, false alarms often occur and often overwhelm security officers. The Video Analytic Surveillance Transition Project is meant to eliminate the occurrence of a false alarm. The technology identifies suspicious passengers and identify then using details like color, clothes, and size. It becomes easy to track them without causing any shut down (Nixon, 2015). Although it might take long before these technologies are deployed, it is evident that once they are deployed they will greatly enhance security in airports.
