Extract of sample "Group Dynamics and Systems"

Groups have a profound impact on the lives of many people. They shape our actions, thoughts, and feelings. Moving from individual isolation to a group context can reduce our uniqueness and creativity. It may also help improve the ability to perform other simple tasks in life. As a member of a group, one may be prompted to change their attitudes and values to agree with those of the group. In an attempt to conform to group requirements, individuals find themselves changing so much to resemble the group (Forsyth, 2006). Individuals in groups will acquire attitudes, values, and identities and even learn skills that will be helpful to the group. Group dynamics influence the overall interaction among people in society.

Group dynamics finds applications in most parts of our daily lives. In most workplaces, groups are integral to the performance and success of the organization or company. In the workplace, I would employ knowledge of group dynamics to understand the attitudes and behavioral patterns of a group because groups tend to influence people a lot. This is because the interactions, functions, and processes within the group may help understand the other employees and benefit the organization.
