tizens, if leaders did indeed exist, they would have managed to clean up after hurricane Katrina and put up protective measures against a repeat of the same. The chaos that followed this disaster should not have been covered up by false promises of resettlement and early evacuation. The lack of leaders in the United States is characterized by the delay in building a high breed car, whereas other developed countries had made attempts, some successful, in this field. A first world country should have leaders that are always a step forward.

They should be aware of events and innovations taking place around them (Iacocca, 2007). The president himself is seen to ignore the constitution that governs the country and all its citizens. His government is also criticized for tapping phone conversations and going to war without any important reason to do so. With such a president, the country appears to be lost and misguided in terms of priorities, giving weight to matters that are not concerned with the country’s positive development.

The leaders in power are inconsiderate people. They have absolutely no concern of the people who voted them in. In fact, they forget all about their voters once they get the seat they were vying for. All they require is the power the constitution grants them. For some, however, they appear to give themselves power over the constitution. These are the kind that by pass laws and enforces those that favor them and their illegal dealings. It is saddening how millions of citizens spend their time voting for their seemingly passionate and considerate leaders only to be humiliated in terms of leadership.

The same people who campaign with much love for their citizens turn out to be breakers of promises. It was shamefully observed that Congress had sessions totaling to 97 days in a year. This was indeed a record and one to be extremely ashamed of. How do leaders of a country so full of crisis and financial constraints afford to spend approximately
