of the English Literature ic and Modern) of the Teacher March 27, Ender’s Game- Book Report Ender’s Game is a science fiction novel written by Orson Scott Card that creates a futuristic scenario where the humanity is at war with an alien race. The government agencies to be able to deal with a future attack by this alien race are breeding children who happen to be tactical geniuses and who are trained to be soldiers. Ender’s Game revolves around a boy Andrew “Ender” Wiggin, who is sent to a Battle School where he is trained to engage in complex war simulations.

Ender’s Game happens to have an enticing plot with complex and engaging characters. The descriptions of the battle room in the story do stimulate and excite the imagination of the readers. Though Andrew lies at the core of the main plot, the subplot affiliated to Andrew’s siblings Valentine and Peter is also interest provoking and amazing. The characterization in the novel is superb and brilliant. Irrespective of the fact that Ender’s Game is a book about war, quintessentially speaking it is a book about compassion and ethics1.

It makes the readers consider the question as to what extent the humanity could push its soldiers to become callous and inhumane so as to be able to make them win wars. Many a times in the book, Andrew expresses his discontent with the traits that are being imposed on him by his teachers. Overall, the books stands to be an enticing and thought provoking work of contemporary science fiction. The plot is thoroughly unpredictable and has a sad ending.
