Japanese Takeaway Restaurant 1.0 Introduction 1.1 Overview of the Research The prime intent of this research study is to conduct a survey and analyze the survey results for determining whether customer services, quality of food, reasonable prices, variety of dishes and place/environment of one of the Japanese takeaway restaurant stores located in Middlesex Street can lead towards meeting desired customers’ wants and needs. In the contemporary era, the overall competition between the restaurants business domain has raised extensively due to high effect of globalization. Moreover, through the help of this particular survey and the analysis of the same, it will be possible to identify how Japanese Takeaway Restaurant has concentrated on quality and hygienic factors while offering its food services to the customers. 1.2 Research Objective(s) and Question(s) In relation to the above context, the research objectives of this particular research study have been framed in the following: Indentify whether the factors concerning customer service, quality of food, reasonable prices, variety of dishes and place/environment of the one of the Japanese takeaway restaurant stores located in Middlesex Street can lead towards meeting desired customers’ wants and needs? How Japanese takeaway restaurants have concentrated on the quality and hygienic factors during providing their food services? 1.3 Research Framework The research framework for this particular research study can be better understood by considering the following: Independent Variables (IV) IV1: Customer Services IV2: Quality of Food IV3: Reasonable Prices IV4: Variety of Dishes IV5: Place/ Environment Dependent Variable (DV) DV3: Satisfy customers’ wants and needs 1.4 Research Assumption Based on the conceptual model, the following hypotheses are examined: Hypothesis 1: H0: Customer services do lead Japanese Takeaway Store to meet customers’ wants and needs H1: Customer services do not lead Japanese Takeaway Store to meet customers’ wants and needs Hypothesis 2: H0: Quality of food does lead Japanese Takeaway Store to meet customers’ wants and needs H1: Quality of food does not lead Japanese Takeaway Store to meet customers’ wants and needs Hypothesis 3: H0: Reasonable prices do lead Japanese Takeaway Store to meet customers’ wants and needsH1: Reasonable prices do not lead Japanese Takeaway Store to meet customers’ wants and needs Hypothesis 4: H0: Variety of dishes does lead Japanese Takeaway Store to meet customers’ wants and needsH1: Variety of dishes does not lead Japanese Takeaway Store to meet customers’ wants and needs Hypothesis 5: H0: Place/ environment do lead Japanese Takeaway Store to meet customers’ wants and needs H1: Place/ environment do not lead Japanese Takeaway Store to meet customers’ wants and needs 2.0 Data and Research Methods 2.1 Sampling Method In this research study, in order to identify the appropriate outcomes of the research study, both male and female consumers have been selected as sample population. While conducting the survey, for identifying the key components, which can lead sustained future success for the Japanese takeaway restaurants, Middlesex Street location has been chosen. Moreover, for the survey, a population sample of young respondents falling under the age group of 1-49 such as students, teachers, doctors and working professionals have been duly considered. Simultaneously, in order to conduct the statistical survey, ‘random sampling’ approach has been chosen for this particular research. In this regard, it can be claimed that ‘random sampling’ approach is one of the efficient statistical survey approaches by which huge figure of data can be gathered within a quick period and also in a cost-effective manner (Onwuegbuzie & Leech, 2007). 2.2 Survey A survey has been conducted with the aim of identifying the key components, which can lead Japanese Takeaway Store to comply with the needs and the wants of the customers. 2.3 Questionnaire With the aim of identifying the key components, which can lead towards future success for the Japanese Takeaway Store, overall 10 questions have been framed for the respondents who often consume fast foods. In this regard, the questionnaire was framed in such a manner, wherein, both open ended and close ended questions were selected for identify the behaviors, perceptions, needs, preferences and opinions of the fast-food customers (Hesse-Biber & et. al., 2010). 2.4 Sample Size In case of a qualitative research, sampling number is an essential factor through which it can be possible to recognize the number of sample population considered for the conduct of a particular research. Apart from this, graphs and charts have been used for better illustration and understanding. In this regard, in order to execute the survey adequately, 36 respondents have been taken into concern. 3.0 Analysis and Findings 3.1 Primary Research During the conduct of the research study, the primary data has been mainly gathered from 36 consumers in the form of respondents who usually consume fast foods. At the same time, the study has emphasized identifying how Japanese takeaway restaurants have concentrated on quality and hygienic factors during providing their food services. The initial section of the questionnaire intended to identify the demographic characteristics of the respondents in the form of elaborating age, gender, occupation, nationality and income among others. With regards to the results obtained from question number 7 (Refer to Appendix), it can be ascertained that a huge figure of the respondents belong to the age group of 19-22. A graphical representation is depicted below for better understanding of the aforesaid subject matter. Fig. 1: Age Group of the Respondents Considering the results obtained in response to question number 2 (Refer to Appendix), it can be found that approximately 64% of the respondents were female, whereas 36% respondents were male. A graphical diagram is depicted below for better understanding of the above stated concept. Fig. 2: Ration of Gender of the Respondents In response to question number 5 (Refer to Appendix), it can be found that approximately 71% of the respondents spend £6 - £7 currency on fast food, whereas 5% of the respondents claimed that their budget is around £3 or less than that for expending on fast food meal purposes. At the same time, it is perceived that 31% of the respondents spend approximately more than £10 currency for fast food meals. Based on this assumption, it can be claimed that the budget per meal in fast food restaurant of the customers is quite reasonable. This can be better understood with the help of the following graphical representation: Fig. 3: Budget per Meal of the Fast Food Respondents On the other hand, with respect to question number 6 (Refer to Appendix), it can be ascertained that the annual income of few number of respondents (8.33% out of overall respondents) was observed approximately around £20,000 - £30,000, whereas approximately 16.67% of the respondents income observed to be £20,000 or Below. A graphical representation is depicted below for better understanding of the above stated context. Fig.4: Annual Income Range of the Respondents With regards to the results obtained from question number 7 (Refer to Appendix), it can be ascertained that 22.86% of the respondents prefer to consume fast food pizza, pasta and other Italian dishes. Similarly, 14.29% and 25.71% respondents like to consume fast food items such as sandwiches or salads from KFC or McDonalds. In contrast, it can be found that 85.71% of the respondents like to consume ethnic restaurants foods. A graphical representation has been provided below for the better understanding of the responses, which was obtained from the conducted survey. Fig.5: Respondents Preference regarding the Fast Food In this similar context, based on the responses obtained from question number 8 (Refer to Appendix), it has been apparently observed that approximately 11.43% of the respondents prefer Japanese takeaway restaurants due to their take away services. At the same time, none of the respondents claimed delivery services to influence the attention of the consumers towards Japanese takeaway restaurants. In this regard, a graphical representation is depicted below for better understanding of the above discussed context. Fig.6: Respondents Viewpoint Regarding the Japanese Takeaway Restaurants In relation to question number 9 (Refer to Appendix), it has been apparently recognized that 25% of the respondents claimed that they prefer mostly customer services of the Japanese takeaway restaurants. Whereas, 47% of the respondents claimed that quality of fast food items have been the most essential components through which Japanese takeaway restaurants have captured the attention of the consumers. At the same time, 14% of the respondents claimed that reasonable prices have been one of the potential causes, which helped Japanese takeaway restaurants to draw the attention of the consumers. A graphical representation is depicted below for better understanding the above stated context. Fig.7: Main Expectation of the Respondents Regarding the Japanese Restaurants The responses obtained in respect to question number 10 (Refer to Appendix) revealed that 47% of the respondents have claimed Japanese takeaway restaurants to draw the attention of the consumers, whereas 50% of the respondents claimed that tasty and quality food has attracted the attention of the consumers in an extensive manner. At the same time, it is also depicted that convenient location and variety of dishes have satisfied the needs and expectations of the consumers. A graphical illustration has been depicted below for clear illustration of the above stated subject matter. Fig.8: Respondents Viewpoint Regarding Japanese Takeaway Store 3.2 Findings Based on the above discussion, it is revealed that all the components such as customer services, quality, reasonable price, convenient location and variety of dishes have helped the Japanese Takeaway restaurant to attract the attention of the consumers. At the same time, the findings also depicted that by considering the quality and hygienic factors, Japanese takeaway restaurants have enhanced i efficiency and effectiveness in terms of fast food services. As a positive consequence, it is revealed that all the key components of the Japanese takeaway restaurants have influenced consumers to buy the fast food items from the fast food stores, which implied that their needs have been met effectively. After analyzing all the factors depicted above, it can be evidently claimed that the customer services, quality of food, reasonable prices, variety of dishes and place/environment of the one of the Japanese takeaway restaurant stores located in Middlesex Street can lead towards meeting desired customers’ wants and needs. In this regard, it can be recommended that this store can improve its long-term sustainability and profitability in the competitive business market by concentrating on varied strategic planning aspects. In this regard, it can be claimed that the store should focus on developing its brand awareness along with its store image. Based on the foregoing discussion it can be claimed that customer services, quality of food, reasonable prices, variety of dishes and place/environment of the one of the Japanese takeaway restaurant stores located in Middlesex Street can lead towards meeting desired customers’ wants and needs.
