The future trend of food and drink industry is bright but the manufacturers of this industry must continue to expand and enhance their product portfolio for the potential growth. Due to the lack of the innovation this industry needs to depend on the research & development advancement, which helps in understanding the changing trend of the customer demand. It is important for the working staff to remain updated about the latest trends of the market, as it helps to form future shape of the organization. This industry is now becoming more competitive because multinationals companies are incorporating new products with innovative. In recent trends, this industry has gain more customer trust, which is important for the development of this industry (Food Marketing & Technology, 2012). Food Science helps to understand the theory of food in the food industry and its significance in the healthcare industry. Food science and food technology is a new field, which helps to understand the nature and structure of the food industry (Jessie & Aruna, n. d). Food and drink is an important consideration for the hospitality industry as quality of food and the trend is a crucial aspect. The paper intends to evaluate about the food and drink industry with regard to the latest developments. Role of Relevant Legislation for Development The food and drink industry is growing on continues basis due to the changing and increasing demand for food. This industry has to deliver the products according to the demands of the customer for surviving in the market. The law of food industry has developed in the last two years and is likely to be continued. The development of legislation is important for the enhancement of food and its nutritional value, which affects the health of people (Leatherhead Food Research, 2014). Food and drink products are vital in the daily life and it plays a fundamental role in the safety of the life of people. For the development of food and drink industry European food and drink manufacturers has to improve the environmental performance of their products continuously (Bear, 2007). The food and drink industry has changed due to the use of new advanced technology. New technology opens new doors and new areas for this industry as per the changing trend and food habits of people. There are number of roles of legislation for the development of food and drink industry as per the trend and season. The major roles are support by the government, export incentive, R & D innovation, trade barriers and food security, education and training, which is required for improving the quality of the product, and balance of power in supply chain among others. These all roles are essential for the development of food and drink industry. Food security is essential for the development for the assurance of the food that is being offered to their customer (Thornton, 2011). The food with high nutritional value is of importance for the enhancement of the hospitality industry. It is observed that food and drink industry is highly influenced due to the legislation and the changing consumer trend. It is an obvious trend that consumer enjoy quality products with low price range. Analysis The Impact Of Development Employees of the hospitality industry are being trained regularly for the development of the industry. Through proper training the employees can gain adequate knowledge about the trends and new technology for the development of the hospitality industry. The improvement of the skills and abilities is one such aspect towards helping employees to achieve the objectives for the long term sustainability (Ameeq & Hanif, 2013) Another aspect which impacts the development of this industry is the environmental factors, which includes carbon and energy, water consumption and pollution and waste among others (Thouvard, 2011). Social impact is also important for the developments of the hospitality industry as it helps to identify the needs of customer and their changing tastes. Food and drink is an important aspect for the growth and development of the hospitality industry. In this regard, technological development has an impact on the operation management of hospitality industry. This industry is using advanced technology for better improvement and enhancement and for delivering better services as per the seasonal and changing trend. Moreover, for the development of this industry as per strategy the operation department has to provide 24*7 services to their customer with nutritious food and drinks. Customers are important for the development of this industry so it is crucial of the operation department to fulfil their needs according to their demands. Contextually, social and cultural impact also affects the hospitality department to a considerable extent. Hospitality industry largely depends on its employees as they are the main service providers. Therefore, training and development of the employees is vital for the development of the hospitality industry with regard to food and drink. The operation department should provide training to their employees so that employees can be familiar with the new technology to provide the better service to the customer and satisfy their ever changing needs and want (Zaei, 2013). It is stated that in the hospitality industry service and quality of products are delivered on the basis of the preferences of customers. Food and drink industry is highly flexible industry as it needs to change with the altering trends and consumer tastes. Every country has their unique cuisine however it is influenced by the preferences of the customer and also on the basis of affordability. Current Image of Hospitality Industry In the global economy as compared to other sectors or industry, food and drink industry is one of the fastest growing industries. Hospitality industry has changed significantly due to globalization. Several part of the hospitality industry are hotel industry, tourism industry, and travel industry among others (Geneva, 2010). Contextually, hospitality industry is a sector where customer expects high level of services and higher satisfaction. High satisfaction of customer in the hospitality industry can be derived by developing the employee strategy and creating a strong workforce. In this regard, it can be stated that “Creation of highly skilled workforce, access to quality employment, shaping the future through the better workforce planning and expanding traditional workforce among others” (Service Skill, 2010). The hospitality industry must plan for the growth in future. As per the current trend the operation of hospitality industry must focus on the operational efficiency. Now this industry is growing effectively, and because of more tourists the hotel industry has developed as well as travel industry also. This industry provides all types of services to their customers. As per the recent trends analysis, the economic growth has also increased for this industry. In recent years the demand of this industry increased for their better service and opportunities. In the year 2009 and 2010, hospitality industry has increased to a considerable extent as compared to the previous year (Service Skill, 2010). In the hospitality sector a lot depends upon the service of employees. Customers with proper skills and etiquettes influence the behaviour of customers to a considerable extent. In the present trend people love multi cuisine with taste being the first priority. It has been revealed that for this industry to flourish it is important to understand the culture of people and their taste buds. Major Potential Trends and Developments on Future Management Major potential trends and developments on future management of the hospitality industry are evaluated hereunder: Integration and Globalisation Integration and globalisation is an important aspect in the hospitality industry. The hospitality industry faces various challenges with regard to deliverance of services as per the changing trend of the customers. A future trend of the hotel industry depends on the globalization. Organization cannot grow without globalization and by providing various services. Globalization is a process through which industry can develop their international influences and start operating the business on international scale. So, globalization is important to develop their business on international scale as per the changing trend of the people (Zhao & Jing, 2009). With integration and globalization a diverse range of foods and drinks are served to people. Diversity in the food and taste has helped this industry to grow further. The only aspect is to understand and culture and preferences of customers to sustain in the hospitality industry at large. New Management Safety and security, capital movement and technology issues are required for the future management. The growing of organization depends on new technology and proper information and this trend is helpful for the future management. Proper information of the customer is required to understand what the customer wants from the staff of hospitality industry. So that the staff can fulfil the expectation of the customer by giving them service as per their demands. This is important for the development of the hospitality industry (Zhao & Jing, 2009). New management and the changing trend of the customers helps in providing better services for expansion. Critical Evaluation of Hospitality Industry Tourism is a part of the hospitality industry which is largely developing and enhancing the economic activity and is influencing the food and drink industry as well. With the increase in tourism the food and drink industry is also getting influenced to a considerable extent. In this regard it can be stated that due to tourism people are bringing in their culture and are searching for the same in the cuisine. This is helping in to bring more diversification in the food and trend industry. Food and drinks as per the changing trend and preferences are being customized to a large extent to satisfy the needs of the customer which is the main aspect of the hospitality industry. Knowing about the culture of each other also influences the food and drink trend. For instance, with the increase in tourism in Australia, the culinary trend have changed with diversification to a certain extent as per the trend and changing preferences. This aspect leads to Psychological satisfaction of customer (Mirbabayev & Shagazatova, 2002).Hospitality industry has changed their several programmes to achieve the objectives and fulfil the expectations of people as per the changing trend. It can be critically evaluated that food and drink industry is changing and is bringing in more diversification (Lugosi & et. al. n. d). Conclusion From the above discussion of the food and drink industry and hospitality industry it can be stated that in recent year’s food and drink industry has developed. Food and drink industry is a part of hospitality industry. Tourism, hotels and restaurants among others are also a vital part of the hospitality industry. The future growth of this industry is bright due to the increase in tourism and changing trend of people. Food and drink industry is a fastest growing industry as compared to other industry. From the above analysis it can also be stated that there are positive impact and negative impact involved in the development of hospitality industry. The current image of this industry has increased their business growth in tourism and hotel industry.
