A person’s intellect and challenges give the person the fortitude to forge on despite any challenges. The peer pressure also contributes in the pursuing of goals without relenting. The members of a determined group are usually obsessed with academic work. They are bookworms and loss the social aspect of their lives. This is because they are highly obsessed with class work to an extent that they attach personal satisfaction and glory to academic excellence and prowess. The optimist is associated with personal achievement and social additive. The members are concerned about their personal contributions to their group because the perception leads to motivation. In this respect, the group flourishes and makes great strides in many academic contests. However, the optimist does not have a strong bond in their grouping. The individual group member are focused on their personal goals rather than the overall group goal achievement. The behavior of the optimist is conservative and limiting in many ways. The optimist group instills the culture of hard work among the members of the society. According to Mccalman (2008), the optimist is associated with stupidity and boredom. The optimist usually is techno-savvy and is the cream of society with regard to literacy and empowerment. The weakness of the group is that it has low social rating. The failure of the group members to interact with people does not deprive them of information on the current affairs. The tendency only makes them less sensitive to the human value other people. Their major focus on machines lie computers is the group’s short-coming. The optimist is the cream of society and they are initiators of all innovations within the society. The group’s fortitude enhances exploits in the technological sphere. The group member usually spends much of their time surfing internet. This implies that their lives are solely based on the internet and other computer applications. Slashdot is also a forum, which is frequently accessed by the optimistic members. The optimist also enhances inventions and they help create new gadgets to the market. The theory to be established is the thinking learning theory. This theory will encompass all the aspects of almost all the other learning theory. This owes to the fact that essentially all the processes pertaining to learning are subject to thinking. Therefore, it is prudent to establish this theory based on the fact that thinking is a variable of learning. Mccalman (2008) asserts that cognitive –gestalt theory reveals how a person acquires a wide range of skills and this marks the transition from intellectual immaturity to intellectual maturity. The thought process gives rise to have acquisition of a fairly strong cognitive grasp of what constitutes the aspect of emotions. In addition, this leads to the ability to distinguish negligible differences in different feelings like irritable versus angry, gloomy versus annoyed. However, thinking theory postulates that the learning process is associated with uncertainty, and indecisiveness. This is the eventuality regardless of possession of the ability to think in the abstract and engage in metacognition which is the thinking about an individual’s own thought processes. Feelings may be quite intense and confusing for the learning individual. The thinking theory shares some aspects with development theory on the basis of improvements made in an individual’s personality, culture and social welfare. The change of personality of the person involves both conscious and sub-conscious thinking. These improvements will boost the person’s social competence. This will be manifest in the individual’s ability to accommodate other people’s ideas. This social competence is a sign of learning process, which will be practiced in social interactions and proficient communication. Person eventually develops excellent communication skills from the group interactions with regard to the level of development of the individual (Mccalman, 2008). The learning is manifest in the individual’s ability to conceptualize ideas of colleagues, which makes the learning of various communication skills easy. This owes to the fact they have already learnt communication styles and techniques necessary for communication. This shows that the person can gain more from an objective and resourceful though process from mature persons. (Mccalman 2008). The environment in which the individual operates and the people he interacts with are vital in gauging the progress of learning .For instance if the person is subjected to harsh people and bad environmental conditions while learning, the person will retreat hence no learning will occur. On the other hand, when an individual engages charismatic and friendly people, he or she is likely to open up and will learn ideas presented to him or her. Thinking theory stipulates that the environment as a determining factor in the learning process of a person ( Mccalman 2008). Another aspect of this theory is that a person will learn easily when under the influence of same sex as opposed to when engaging with an opposite sex person. This improves their social life because they socialize with less difficulty and losing such attachment slows an individual’s social learning. After the learning process is complete an individual will agitate to show their psychosocial, emotional and cognitive skills. Therefore, he manages to selectively choose colleagues who are socially compatible with them. This makes it easier for them to realize their identities out of their gradual interaction amongst themselves. Indeed this prepares them for sound decision making in life. Learning contributes to the development of communication skills through interaction with other people given that interaction is part of the learning process. 2. Hillary states that he selected his team members carefully. In his selection of the “young man who he had not met before”, (who had won the canoeing medal), what do you believe were the qualities that Hillary identified in this individual? Hillary’s first impression of the young canoeing medal champion is that he was open-minded and accommodative given that she exhibited love and courtesy for everybody he met. He was also social given that he successfully sought the help of his friends whenever he needed support. The young medalist was a confident lad because he mingled with the group despite the fact that he was non-native speaker. His humor thrilled every group member .this made the interaction lively and exciting. Additionally, this humorous attribute enabled the rest of the members to identify with the group, which made them open to each other in the conversations. He was also confident because he approached his profess and enquired on the best title for their proposal. He was impressive throughout the interactive session given his outgoing nature. According to Mccalman (2008), the canoeing medalist was impressive because he open up during the meeting. He relatively contributed to the group’s discussion. He was used to the group members. This made her jovial and interactive all along. She could freely speak with her friends and people she was familiar with in her life. This was a strength for her because this enabled her acquire ideas and skills from the people she was not familiar with like the group members. he was social with his friends, which implied that he is a potential influential group member. This owes to the fact that he was to be open and vibrant in the group meeting. The young man had high self-esteem compared to the other friends .this was manifest in his rapport .he had no difficult introducing himself to the rest of the group members. He maturely behaved, which indicated that he was not new in group discussions. The young man took the initiative of doing research on the social need of the climbing project. This qualified her as a leader in this context of group work. Hillary was impressed with the young medalist despite normal odds in life. 3. Hillary talks directly about individuals and also of teams, yet only indirectly mentions the organisation. What type of roles would the organisation have undertaken in the first ascent of Mt. Everest. How critical would this role have been to the success of the climb? The types of roles the organization would have taken include the preparation of the team members who were to climb the mountain. This includes altitude training for the team members who are to climb the mountain. The selection of an appropriate number of people to climb the mountain is crucial. Carrying out mountain climbing expeditions and offering of logistical support to the team members (Mccalman, 2008). The organization will organize cooks who will ensure that the tam is provided with sufficient food in the course of the climbing exercise. The organization will ensure base camp services are offered and oxygen systems are intact. This will ensure the survival of the people who will be on the climbing escapade. Additionally, the organization will ensure that high-tech communication systems are in place to ensure that emergencies are taken care of at all times.
