Introduction Organizational behavior refers to an established culture within an organization, which majorly encompasses the manner in which persons or groups operate in order to maximize or boost output. Proper knowledge of an organizational behavior is vital for the process of establishing healthy relationships through aspects such as social objectives and organizational objectives. II. Body A. Factors that influence and shape organizational behavior Several factors come into play during the early stages of the development of the organizational behavior.

A combination of these factors is what influences and shapes the culture of any organization. They include the personality of the founder, the ethics of the organization, employment relationships, organizational structure, and national culture. B. Elements of Organizational Behavior These are the specific features that describe the culture of an organization. They include their values, vision and philosophy, goals, customer relations, quality of service, and interrelationships amongst the stakeholders. C. Models in organization behavior models Various models have been formulated to explain the nature of different organizational cultures.

These models are as enumerated below: 1. Autocratic: entails labor divisions with chains of commands 2. Custodial: Characterized by close super-vision to safeguard the interests of the organization. 3. Supportive: the culture encourages co-ordination and helping each other. 4. Collegial: Authority vested equally among colleagues III. Conclusion Organizational behavior is basically a culture that characterizes the nature of interaction and operations within and organization. If exploited appropriately, this culture can give the organization a competitive edge.

However, it is worth noting that the development of a particular culture is influenced by several factors, which also vary from one organization the next. Annotated Bibliography Dugger, W.M. (1991).
