Blog Entry: Lance Armstrong and Oprah BY YOU YOUR SCHOOL INFO HERE HERE Blog Entry: Lance Armstrong and Oprah Initial reactions were that Armstrong was attempting to gain positive publicity on the back of the multitudes of negative PR received by the biking professional, in an effort to save face. During the interview, his body language illustrated nervousness, illustrating that his soft-spoken words conflicted with his genuine attitude. His motivation for this confession was to ensure that society did not maintain negative attitudes, knowing that he had no means of escaping the damage caused by his irresponsibility.

There are likely few implications for the sport of cycling, as this organization has had years of honest sports professionals that actually comply with the rules of the sport. As far as any impending legal actions, there seems to be ample evidence of his guilt to guarantee remedies. Armstrong will never be allowed to participate in sports again, as he has cast a negative shadow on himself for deceiving the public. His sponsors have little worry about reputation as society understands that it is Armstrong, and not the sponsors, that have been so blatantly dishonest.

Oprah conducted a fair interview, however she could have been more firm, but seemed to have developed a mild empathy for him, which is usually her way.
