DQ1 Measuring the level of performance of the employees is very important. In the past I worked at a company that did a great of measuring the performance of its workers. Each week the productivity numbers of the employees were posted in a wall. Production incentive bonuses were given to employees that exceeded a predetermined quota. The employees could earn up to an extra $5.50 per hour in production bonuses. Earning an incentive means you have exceeded a pre-determined goal (Saylor, 2012). Managers have to make good use of time to optimize the productivity of an operation. Documentation is very important because it provides a way to keep a written or computerized record of the work performed by the workers. “Documentation justifies employment actions, from recruitment and selection to resignation, retirement or termination” (Mayhew, 2012). The manager is responsible for the performance of his subordinates.
DQ2
A system that allows the employees to rate themselves is a great idea. Such a system can inspire motivated employees to achieve a higher level of performance. A potential problem of self-evaluation is employees exaggerating their level of performance (Bacal, 2012). Constructive criticism is an important element of any appraisal system. Employees have to be willing to listen to the opinions of others and accept that they may have deficiencies that must be improved. The use of training and development can enhance the skills and capabilities of the employees. Human resource professionals and managers must document their work. An example of a documentation process is the time cards that employees use when they punch into work. These cards must be saved in case there area any payroll issues associated with the payment to an employee. An industry in which proper documentation is imperative towards the ability of the professionals to provide a proper service is the medical industry (Nyu, 2012).

Bridget Bishop: Salem Witch

...BRIDGET BISHOP: SALEM WITCH Young girls in Salem Village in 1692 began exhibiting strange physical phenomena, which the village leaders, led by Pastor Samuel Parris, interpreted as witchcraft, based on spectral evidence against some men and women, including Bridget Bishop. For her courageous and outrageous divergence from social norms in behavior and manners, especially with unpleasant speech, she became a fit target for execution on June 10 in Witches Hill. Later-day theories explain the unfamiliar phenomena as the effects of ergot poisoning, Puritanism's repugnance for the spoken word and the Salem leaders'inclination to look for someone to execute for their political troubles at the time. ...Topic: DQ2 and Section # of Difference between managers and leaders: The diversity involving the managers and the leaders is elementary. The manager dispenses, the leader pioneers. The manager preserves, the leader expands. The manager depends upon structures, the leader depends upon individuals. The manager reckons on power, the leader reckons on confidence. The manager makes sure the things are headed in the right direction; the leader makes sure he does the right thing. In view of the fact that effectual managers have to be fine supervisors in addition to being leaders, then what would be a good manager and a god leader, and how can an individual become one or both of the above.
