Extract of sample "Code of Conduct and Governance Framework"

The governance framework consists of processes that ensure that all employees adhere to the code of conduct (Holt 2006).  Elaborate on the importance of each of the processes. In order to ensure that the governance framework functions as expected in every company, these processes must be followed.

There is a need for concern over ABC’s external stakeholders due to the diverse cultural settings. How important is such a concern? There tend to be conflicts when people from different cultures interact due to differences in their customs and beliefs (Badaracco 1992). However, this should not deter a company from achieving its goals.

What are ways through which issues of individual morality and organizational ethical responsibility can be managed? Badaracco (1992), Holt (2006), and McDonald (2010) provide four spheres on how to handle such issues. For example, the development of a moral character can be used by managers to adjust morals and ethics to suit the situation prevailing in their environment.

In what ways can the core deliverables from this module help in the resolution of problems related to an ethical dilemma and tensions between ABC Limited and its stakeholders?

Second scenario: Neil Campbell

What are ethical problems in your organization? These problems could relate to social culture, sustainability, and corporate social responsibility (Mele 2011). Any commercial-oriented organization can expect to face such challenges.

In what ways can such problems be solved?

In the effort to find solutions on how to create a high-performance team, there is a need to identify ways to manage and solve ethical problems. What are some of the issues would you focus on towards this effect? This is important because the achievement of a certain goal needs a clear framework of how to achieve it.

What is the role of culture, gender, age, position, and seniority in relation to when your organization wants to become ethical?

In what ways does organizational culture influence ways of dealing with unethical behavior in an organization?

Third scenario: Sebastian

Why is the selection and recruitment of executives an important workplace-based problem? According to McDonald, 2010, ethics have been considered on different levels among them being the individual level. In addition, the ethical behavior of leaders is rooted in their personalities (Mele 2011). In this regard, recruitment and selection of leaders are one of the many considerations to take in order to ensure a correct individual is hired.

Give examples of why addressing the issue of unethical behavior should begin right from the recruitment process.

Why is it important to conduct psychological tests during interviews?

Your workplace-based problem involves ethical relativism. Why do you think this qualifies to be a workplace-based problem? When conducting interviews, an assessment of an individual’s moral attitude is done. However, what lacks is ethical relativism on a group or cultural level (McDonald 2010). This should not be ignored because every candidate might have different morals depending on their culture and environment.

In what ways can such a problem be solved?

Fourth Scenario: Shfeq

Why are ethical responsibility and moral frameworks crucial in any firm? According to Smith & Martin Cooper, 1997, a company must be morally responsible if it causes harm to the user, might have known about the potential of harm, and choose to ignore it.

What moral responsibility should a company uphold in relation to products that pertain to social media channels? In essence, these channels like Twitter and Facebook are easily accessed by the government.

What is the connection between the revenue stream for the firm and the financial impact it possesses? It is evident that other firms and government agencies use this software for security purposes.

Why are the rationale for selection, significance of the problem, and ethical framework common in numerous businesses? Recent research has indicated a number of articles that have similar challenges within businesses (Badaracco 1992).

With regard to the four questions that guide the problematizing process (Badaracco 1992). What impact do the four spheres give in relation to market share to competitors who have competing offers?

Fifth Scenario: Taofiq

The problem of managers and workers lowering commitment to the organization being demotivated and dampening interest at the workplace is caused by the practice of paying              IFPB to actors who are beyond firms’ boundaries. What solution can be offered to curb this continuous drift between managers and outsiders?

Why do the IFPB business development appreciations work with secrecy, especially with regard to the organization and the bank boys?

In relation to IFPB issues, why is it important for an organization to carry out an internal inquiry to members of an organization at all levels? Which ways can help an organization to fully understand the problem that they are experiencing?

Shareholders view the offering of house units as a considerable value to the main actors who are involved in case transactions are successful, thus important for organizational growth. Contrary to this, workers believe that they work for others outside the organization to enjoy. How can this conflict be solved?

What role can an ethical leader play in an organization in ensuring that morals and ethics are followed in every issue that is carried out? What improvements are necessary especially in relation to purchasing land and its acquisition?
