During this meeting the managers have to discuss ways to minimize or eliminate the friction among the employees associated with diversity. The diversity in this workplace is not being harness in a positive manner. One of topics that will be discussed during the meeting is active listening. “Active listening is the ability to help the source of a message say what he or she really means” (Schermerhorn & Hunt & Osborn, 2003, pg. 341). It is important for the staff to become better receptors of information.

Currently the cultural differences among the staff are causing misunderstandings. A second topic that should be discussed at the meeting is teamwork. A lack of teamwork is a symptom that is currently being displayed by the workers. The firm has to modify the work structure of the workers in order to design team assignments. The employees will learn to cooperate and work with each other better in team settings because they will be force to depend on the efforts of their teammates. “Teamwork is the ability to work together toward a common vision” (Carnegie).

A third topic that is going to be discussed at the meeting is communication. In order for the current issues to be resolved the lines of communication between the workers and the managerial staff must be opened at all times. The communication process in the workplace has been enhanced by the use of technology. A technique that can help bring solidarity among the workers is to have weekly face to face meetings between the entire staff. Good communication is needed in business to achieve success (Mindtools, 2012).
