Ethical Behavior During the establishment of a company, by laws are put in place to guide every aspect of the company. All the activities and operations within the company are also guided by the same by laws. In this case, any material meant for the company has a particular way with which it can be handled. None of the companies will allow the transfer of office suppliers to home. Therefore, it is unethical to do this. Similarly, the use of office telephone is also controlled by the set by laws.

In this case, using the office telephone to make long-distance personal calls is unethical. So is it unethical if one devotes company time for doing personal business. All these practices, constitute stealing since each involves diverting attention, energy and time away from the company’s activities for personal interests (Nelson & James, 2010).2. Exaggerating one’s credentials during an interview is nothing but lying. No form of lying is acceptable. Lying is unethical since even if one lies, he or she will be caught out eventually.

Lying is also detrimental to the company. It lowers the performance.3. Pretending to be the best while you are not is being deceitful. This is because the boss needs to know the real you so that he or she can be in the position of helping you or placing you to the right place in the company.4. A bribe is given with the intention of getting a particular favor in return. It is given in exchange with something else. A gift on the other hand is given without eyeing anything in return from the recipient.

A gift is appreciatory (Nelson & James, 2010). 5. Customers are the pillars of any business organization. They deserve to be handled in the best way possible. If you take advantage of them today, they will abandon you tomorrow. Therefore, you need to give then all the truth regarding the products you are selling to them. They should know of the defects of the product .6. Asking a friend to help you in securing a ticket is not cheating because tickets are a matter of who manage to get them first.

If people have to fight in order to get the tickets, asking for this favor is understandable as a way of struggling and not cheating. Using the company’s cost to buy merchandise for the family is cheating since the company’s name is used in this case, not the family name (Nelson & James, 2010). 7. Doing less than one’s best is immoral. Everyone needs to give his or her best at work, according to the terms of employment. Violating these terms is therefore immoral. Acceptance of workers compensation while having the capacity of working is immoral since there is no honesty.8. Such behaviors as rejection, isolation, terrorizing and corrupting are examples of emotional abuse existing at work.

One can abuse his or her power if he or she uses to do what is wrong for those around him or her as well as for the company. 9. Working in an area that brings a lot of stress is a breach of ethics. Ethics are meant for one’s peace of mind. High stress is not peaceful to one’s mind. Transfers on the other hand should be done with special consideration to employee’s family. Transfers that break families are unethical (Nelson & James, 2010).10. All rules are not only important but they are also right.

It is an ethical obligation of employees to stick by the company rules. 11. As far as my coworkers are concerned, I have the responsibility ensuring that they display ethical behavior. If they do not I will report since doing so will be for their good and not harm.12. Helping one group at the other group’s expense is unethical. This is because the action will mean overworking one group, which is unethical.Reference:Nelson, D. L. & James C.Q. (2010-09-01).
