Extract of sample "How Does Motivation Contributes to Job Performance"

Joe has always worked hard in order to deliver a result, and this can be linked to outstanding performance showcased. However, due to a lack of motivation, he has felt neglected due to the different treatments he receives. He feels inadequately rewarded in exchange for his performance, therefore, not satisfied thus he ends up daydreaming on his desk. Joe’s performance problem be attributed to a lack of training programs. The manager admits that the firm has gone for long without career counseling, the fact that Joe is not a graduate he needs regular training given the nature of the job.

Lack of motivation his performance has also affected, motivation can be linked to job performance or receiving unfair treatment. This can be analyzed by evaluating Joe’s hard work in designing projects, but in return for this hard work and effort-reward he gets discriminated against his fellow colleagues, this has demoralized him to the extent of even daydreaming on his desk. In addition, the norm that employees do not leave early on Friday has also affected Joe’s performance owing that he has a wife and children who he requires more time to rest and enjoy with them(Schwartz 77).

Joe’s behavior to sleep on his desk is inappropriate this can encourage other employees to relax even in prime times. This behavior needs to be checked out to curb its spread. The fact that Joe's job satisfaction is low due to the rewards he gets from his high performance needs intrinsic rewards. Joes work can be redesigned so that he can enjoy rotation thus encouraging specialization in areas of interest (Schwartz 83).
