? Manager Interviews Management refers to the procedure whereby there exists the acquiring and utilizing resource, with the aim to achieve organizational goals. Ones all the necessary resources stand acquired; it is of utmost importance to utilize them effectively, with a main purpose of achieving the goals. It is necessary that there should be in place, an appropriate strategy or rather study, which aids in the procedure of decision-making, concerning which type of research method they ought to put to place, to facilitate the conducting of the most proper management procedures. One of the most common procedures made use of to date includes the qualitative research methods, the quantitative research method, and the mixed research methods (McBride, 2005). Brilliantine, is amongst the firms under study, and poses as a firm, working with the reception of three main categories of calls from its clients. After conclusively interviewing not only the firms’ manager, Mrs. Sutton Banks, but also other executives of the firm, it was clear that the services rendered include, emergency calls, which would lie considered as the most vital of all the firms operations, as they result to having the firms’ agents being on the phone, for an average time of thirty minutes. This however goes further to lie spread over to a greater number of calls, whereby the customer, the client’s family, or even the neighbors are at times involved in the entire calling procedure. Technical enquiries, as well as reassurance calls, are also part of the buildup that the firm consists and works with (Esty, 2006). On the other hand, I learnt from my research that, a spa managers’ job is one of the most demanding positions that one could take up today. The flourishing spa industry gives one the opportunity to engage in procedures that bring with them rewards, excitement and, most importantly, great hope and exemplary results. However, with all this comes the other side of spas that many people may tend to know very little about. From my interview with the manager of one popular spa around that I visited, I learnt that despite holding this somewhat desired position, a lot comes with bearing that role. It is evident that with that very demanding position as a spa manager, the predicament of need for more support in terms of moral support and guidance, as well as training of staff is a major setback if lacked. In addition, it is also a very necessary factor, if the spa is to perform in accordance to the set standards (Plunkett, 2012). Technology in business is essential because without it issues such as globalization, efficient communication with customers, security, as well as efficiency of operations would not lie realized. Annual tradeshows offering vendor support to dealers and cruise incentive trip for top performing dealers have also remained carried out in a bid to improve its dealer’s relations (Esty, 2006). Moreover, I learnt that, like any other management position, to be a successful spa manager, one tends to develop more in terms of success of the spa, too, with more relevant education and experience that tends to address not only their life skills but business skills as well. A well-established spa, such as the one covered in my research, incorporates various functions that may not necessarily be independent (McBride, 2005). Among various departments that should lie considered equally important is the finance department. This what, at the end of the day, the manager, and the managerial crew count on to reveal any income or possible loss where it applies. Just to mention a few roles of this department, it interprets all the financial reports and provides expertise on matters concerned with the overall revenue against the expenses incurred. This department is also mainly concerned with administration of staff and scheduling of clients to ensure maximum revenue generation and profitability as well (Plunkett, 2012). Thorough research entails a careful search of a subject matter in order to get and gather new facts. There exists the anticipation of emotional conviction in positive results. The main reason as to why the choice of research has to be thorough and objective is that research has different limitations. The lack of skill, as well as knowledge, could hinder perfect research as imperfectness could not be of low standard, low quality, and grammar related mistakes are always experienced, thus the methodology of research may stand to face revision. Researchers require equipment such as computers, tablets, and calculators. People who could undertake some research could have some difficulty in using some of these tools to either input information or search information (Esty, 2006). A well-established spa should not only focus on the comfort and well-being of its clients, but with that of its employees as well. To keep any conflict at bay, a manager should maintain professional relationship with the employees as well. This translates to fair treatment and wage payment too. One way to achieve this is by holding regular staff meetings that help keep members of staff up to date with all aspects of the spa’s day-to-day operation. Similarly, implementing skills training to the employees is vital to ensure excellent service standards. In my research, the issue of accidents rose. Accidents are inevitable and surround everyone. In the case of a spa in particular, employees would feel safer and more comfortable to work with well-established insurance/compensation plans. It is the manager’s job to ensure that these plans stand enacted. Factors that a spa manager should put in mind include the particular employee’s rank, risks that the employee himself faces while working and maybe the magnitude of work the employee is involved in (Plunkett, 2012). It is also very important that the spa’s build and rent do not add up to major expenses or else the spa realizes very little or no profits at all. I learnt that, in a scenario whereby the spa is somewhat sub-standard in structure/build, the spa would attract fewer clients and consequently affect negatively the levels of profits assumed (Esty, 2006). A similar situation would be whereby the spa faces high expenses on payment of rent for the business premises where it is situated. If the rents do not match the income generated by the spa, then it is bound to realize minimal profits as compared to when the rent payable and income generated match (McBride, 2005). Spas assist people in the contemporary world to live an easy and yet affordable life by offering various services. Understanding the general management of a Spa is influential to both the client and the professional in the field. Appreciating the management is important because it acts as a means through which to reach greater developments in the field by pointing out various weaknesses (Plunkett, 2012). There lies a number of ways through which the management policies of the firm, as well as the firms practices, could be changed in order for the firm to realize increased effectiveness in its line of service provision, as well as efficiency in what it does. Brilliantine’s operations clearly revolve around the aged and the infirm, and so should the basis of improving their services (Plunkett, 2012). On the other hand, there never lacks room for improvement. In this particular case scenario, it would be advisable for Brilliantine to make thorough, all security aspects concerning the running and operation of the firm. This should stretch from, securing and maintaining the loyalty of all employees to creating a secure environment for its clients, that builds their confidence in Brilliantine. Client-Information privacy should be well maintained and respected too. With this being the case, Brilliantine is able to retain their employees, deterring any competitors targeting that particular sector, as they would have already taken-up the role of a monopoly (Esty, 2006). In relation to the efficiency of the firms services, Brilliantine systems realization of overwhelming positive reaction from its clients, with their direct customers being on the frontline. This refers to the elderly, who are the direct beneficiaries of the firm’s services. Closely follows the elderly family and friends, inclusive of all direct relatives too. With the firms operation and service rendering to the community, in terms of catering for their aged, facilitating their daily lives positively (McBride, 2005). The company ought to have the ability to expand its larger store format into new markets, grow same-store merchandise sale and take advantage of the Nations’ increasing blue-collar worker population who have the ability to get service from the various stores thereby creating ready market for its products (Esty, 2006). Situations whereby the efficiency and the effectiveness of the firm are evidently clear is whereby the old in the society are awarded, through the firms operations, a chance to associate with their age mates. This is perhaps one of the most rare chances in a person’s life, to come by at the age of seventy years plus. The reason behind this kind of situation being, at that elderly age, one rather requires the safest and most conducive environments to spend their life in. With this, it is found out that the elderly are normally re-situated to perhaps the up countries, making the chances of them to ever meet, leave alone mingle with in the future, only slimmer References Esty, D.
