?Final Report As a consultant for Can-Go, an important organizational tool that is recommended is to create a business plan. While it is often considered a project with which to begin a business, it is also a useful tool to have and use during the course of doing business. The Business plan is a fluid piece of writing that can change as the needs and goals of the company change. The purpose of the plan is to ensure that the company sets goals and creates strategies with which to meet those goals. In suggesting the creating of a good business plan for Can-Go, the consulting team will be assisting them in providing them a forum in which to create organized goals so that they can achieve at a higher level. The business plan will provide a foundation upon which future plans can be built with all of the business goals in mind and with a clear direction in which the company can journey. In creating a business plan, the first recommended course of actions is for the company to set on paper the mission of the company. Creating a mission statement allows a company to provide an overall goal through which all other goals can be measured and assessed. The mission statement would include ideas about the values and purposes that the business intends for being in business. This creates a doorway to understanding why the business exists. As business decisions are made, the mission statement creates a centered platform from which those decisions will support the goals that are being set for the company. Taking the time to create a solid mission statement of the business is highly recommended as a first step towards creating a workable business plan that allows for the goals of the company to be achieved. Through this mission statement it will be clear when the company is meandering off point, heading towards an outcome that is not really a part of the intended future of the company. It is highly recommended that this be the first step towards creating a more organized set of goals for the company. The important goal that will be achieved through creating the business plan is an organized and ordered set of goals that can be formulated through specified strategies. When a company does not adhere to a set of strategies, eventually it will wander into a trap that will negatively affect their overall performance. Ordered and organized strategies will prevent the company from meandering into a trap that is off mission and outside of the goals that are intended. Strategy is the final step before implementing a plan towards a goal. The goal must be identified with the strategy to meet that goal then created. Through a well organized business plan, the best strategies for a company will be revealed and goals can be met in ways that will have wonderful and surprising results. It is not the path towards the goal that should be full of surprises, but the results of meeting the goal so that the best possible outcome can be achieved. In recommending that Can-Go create a business plan, the consultants are looking towards the best possible future for the company as it designs its set of goals and creates strategies through which to meet them. The mission statement will provide the company with a commonly understood meaning so that all the ideas that the employees bring to the table can be assessed and goals can be created towards meeting those ideas that fall into the purpose that has been designated through the mission statement. Once the ideas are assessed and created into goals, tasks can be designed to meet those goals. Goals become the functional outcome of the business plan, creating a framework in which strategy can be set. The one thing that must be remembered in creating a business plan is that it is flexible and will change as the business changes and grows. While a static mission statement is best, the details that surround that mission statement will provide for the expected growth that a company will achieve. The goals of a company will change as expected outcomes are met and new goals are created towards a bigger and brighter future. In creating a business plan that is both flexible but built upon a foundation of meanings that have been boiled down into a coherent and meaningful mission statement, the company is always on track and if it does meander off target, can find its way back with minimal impact to the overall business. Can-Go seems to be a company full of bright and creative people. In creating a set of goals that are focused through the meaning of conducting business as Can-Go, the company will find that the rewards are bigger and more substantial. In recommending this course of action, the team is supporting the best possible construction of the future for the company and supporting the creation of defined goals that can be reached, rather than a chaotic path towards an unknown destination. The way that Can-Go has been conducting business up to this point has been successful, but through observing the beliefs about that success it is clear that it was happenstance that provided that success – that and a good idea. As a team that is dedicated to helping Can-Go attain higher levels of achievement, it is hoped that the recommendation to create a good business plan will be accepted so that future goals can be reached through organized strategies. Final Presentation Greetings to all here and I hope you are having a good day today. I want to take this opportunity to express how impressed I have been with Can-Go during the observational stage of this project. Even though I have spotted some problems at the organizational level, I see that the company has achieved a great deal of success and is poised to attain higher levels of success. The people involved with this company all show a high level of competence and creativity, giving me hope that the few adjustments that I would like to recommend can be easily implemented so that the goals that you have can more easily and efficiently be realized. I look forward to working with you on this project and I believe that what I have in mind will be beneficial to the future of this company. As I have overviewed this company I have noticed that the one thing that seems to be lacking that could contribute greatly to the overall future success of Can-Go is the development of a solid business plan. I realize that you have established yourself and have gone well past the beginning of your business, but the creation of a business plan becomes a good tool through which goals can be met and strategies developed. In creating a business plan, the first realization that you will find is that you understand who you are as a company through a more richly developed set of meanings. Within these meanings you can divine the future, creating a sense of where you have been so that you know where you want to go. I want to see your business establish a deeper focus on its identity and support goals through strategies that will achieve the desired outcomes as they have been established through that sense of identity. The first goal that you will want to achieve should you decide to create a business plan is to create a mission statement. The mission statement is how you find your identity. In this statement you will want to write down why you do business and for what purpose. This will set the tone for who you are as a business, creating goals that are supported by the identity that you have chosen. Your identity exists already, but through putting it into a well crafted statement you will be able to see how ideas fit into your identity and it will prevent you from pursuing ideas that do not truly express who you are as a business. On the other hand, through a well crafted mission statement you can decide on a winning set of strategies that are in line with the identity that you have set for your company. By discovering your identity, you can achieve a whole range of goals that you might not have otherwise thought of while protecting yourself from ideas that do not truly fit into your perceptions of who your company is as a working entity. Once you have an idea of your identity, you can put into your business plan a work up of who the company is through what it has achieved and what it has yet to achieve. Creating a picture of who you have been will allow you to support ideas for the business that you want to become. I want you to see that the business plan is not a report but a tool in which the identity of the business is established so that you know who you are in order to become who you want to be. Just as a person will change and grow with experiences and achievements, so will the business plan change and grow so that it can accommodate the entire identity of the company. It is my desire to see this company grow and the best way to do that is to organize it into a tool that can be used for future goals and growth. This is why I am recommending this business plan project. Once you have come to an understanding of who you are as a business, and I expect that will be quite a surprise to you when you get it on paper, you will be able to identify those goals that will best support growth and expansion. I am sure you will be equally surprised at the places you can go once you create a sense of your identity and come to realize all that can mean to you. It is my expectation that ideas will begin to flow quite naturally out of the experience of creating a business plan which can be then converted into workable goals for achievements that are beyond your current wildest dreams. The next step will be to build strategies in which to implement those goals. Again, the business plan is going to allow you to see all of the assets of the business, both material and human, so that you can create strategies that are based on a foundation of what you know you can do. When you are able to see a full picture of who you are as a company and what resources you have at your disposable, strategies will fall naturally into place and goal outcomes will be more securely envisioned. Therefore, it is my recommendation from observing the way you operate that while you have achieved great success, you have the potential for higher levels of success that can be reached through a business plan which provides an identity for your company and supports the strategies that will lead you to successful outcomes for your goals.
