Sports management is one of those prominent careers that underlie the task of handling drama in a sophisticated world of fragile relationships. Job responsibilities for sports manager are vast and complicated depending on the area of the sport and the industrial level of management.

For instance, in competitive football, merits would be based on goals achieved in their position. Moreover, I would try to attach the socialization agent with instructional sports. Instructional sports require team dynamics. These leadership skills are vital as they cultivate an aura of experience that most individuals lack in their lives. Thus, allowing peers to collaborate with each other in a social environment can truly add a new aspect to instructional sports. The sports manager’s role in this particular scenario is to facilitate the task of collaboration, motivate the team, handle public relations of players and their respective contracts.

In an ideal world, a sports manager usually works 50 to 60 hours weekly along with working overnights and weekends. Moreover, sports manager must deal with the financials of a company as they constantly work with accountants and financial analysis in order to ensure that proper cash flow is received. The sports manager must be flexible and should be ready to handle any sensitive issues related to media relations or the sales of any particular team products. First and foremost is obtaining a bachelor’s degree in sports management. However, that might not be feasible considering many universities do not specialize in this profession. Hence, a degree in management would also suffice along with business management. Secondly, a person pursuing this career must gain some experience as an intern or part-time in order to understand the true essence of the complexity that is involved at this profession. After gaining some experience from shadowing a manager, it is critical that the young individual apply for an entry-level sports manager position in order to spearhead their career.

In this field, experience along with education is a key towards harnessing professional development. Hence my current goal to gain employment at a sports marketing company such as Nike, Adidas, and Reebok. I really feel that working in one of these prominent companies will allow me to gain a competitive edge. After gaining some professional experience, I later want to be an agent for athletes. Since this profession relies heavily in expertise, age and reputation, it is almost a challenge for a young individual to dictate what goes around an organization. Moreover, the complexity of being a sports manager can be excruciating to say the least. Player relationships are fragile and are complicated to deal with. A wrong statement or a wrong action can dynamically change the character of the organization itself. However, I do have confidence in my abilities to be successful in this environment because of the knowledge I have gained throughout the years.

I have high ambitions and aspirations to be successful as a person. Throughout my academic career, I have harnessed good grades which continue to drive my passion towards excelling in my field of study. Being a sports manager will be a great opportunity for me to challenge myself a comfortable environment while expanding my knowledge. . In addition, I have great leadership capabilities which allow me to give motivation and position in vibe in midst of all adversity. My perception of recreation has changed in many ways.

First and foremost is the fact that recreation sports do allow individuals to experience their passion for sports and compete at a decent lever. I understand that although money is a huge motivator, players desire respect from the team. As an athlete myself, I understand the core components of creating a successful team dynamics that can compete at a professional level.
