Abstract Nestle has gained the trust of customers by always offering better and high quality product. The safety and health environment at Nestle is maintained at the highest required standard. For healthy and safe environment all organization has some visions, goals and objectives which are revived, reassessed and transformed annually. Nestle also has a safety policy and to keep the staff aware of such policies, Nestle celebrates “Safety week”. Introduction Nestle being the largest food manufacturer has highest standard of quality regarding the fact that it’s dealing with the health of millions of people around the globe. Nestlé’s prior interest is with the quality assurance of its each and every product. The secret behind its growing business is that it never compromises when it comes about the quality and standard of its product. This is only achieved by any organization if it maintains a safe and healthy environment in entire its firm. Healthy and Safe Environment at Nestlé: Nestle has always come up with certain techniques and revolutionary ideas to do so. It had gained the costumer’s confidence over many years and this confidence is built upon the healthy and safe environment of the firm. It is also due to the policy of the organization, Nestle works on the continuous improvement programs to gain consumers trust and preference by competitiveness and quality. Its policy covers food safety and regulatory compliance systems. The policy runs under globally mandatory principles and product specific quality standard. For a healthy and safe environment in the organization, following elements should be considered significant like conditions of the production areas and other sensitive areas should be brought under regulatory inspection 24/7. At Nestle not only the production areas but at whole the factory, labs and offices are taken under complete inspection. About production area, each and every product goes through the visual scrutiny, is dealt with certified plant operators and then goes through third-party inspection. Employees are important part of any firm, whether big or small. Their behavior, attitude and personal hygiene plays a significant role in making the organization’s environment clean and healthy. Nestle considers the knowledge and attitude of its employees about health and safety and always come up with certain program which enhance the knowledge of its employees. The personal hygiene of the employees is the top most thing because a person can make the surroundings clean if only he or she is clean. Considering major element, it also includes the standards in every aspect. Nestle takes it as an important task which comprises each and every input, whether policies or plans, from process to progress. The best way to implement the above elements for healthy and safe environment is continuous monitoring and Nestle is doing the job quite impressively. Nestle plans such workshops which helps the employees in the identification of the hazards and related risk assessment. It includes the recognition of the health and safety hazards, its listing and risk rating of each hazard and the counter act for it. It also includes decision making and steps that may be necessary to reduce, minimize or control the risks. Nestle is organizing events like “Safety Awareness Week” in its factories with devotion, commitment and understanding to endorse safe working conditions of its employees, visitors and contractors. Not only this days like Environment Day and Earth Day is also observed at Nestle worldwide. Efforts like this and many others have been done in Nestle so that a healthy and safe environment is created in the factories and offices round the globe. Following the above steps, any organization can bring the higher standards in their product and can built trust among its costumers. By making a safe and healthy environment we can move towards a prosperous world and also towards greener tomorrow. Safety Visions, goals and Objectives Nestle is one the leading multinational companies. Being the largest food manufacturer it has always maintained its quality and standard. A Nestle brand name or product is actually a promise to its costumers that it’s of highest quality and produced under healthy and safe environment. Nestle takes its costumers and consumers at the center of its interest, that’s why it makes its internal environment clean, healthy and secure. Nestle always comes up with new and improved quality system which includes accomplishment of compliance through flawless execution, factual and transparent communication and verification by independent audits. For healthy and safe environment any organization has some visions, goals and objectives which are revived, reassessed and transformed annually. One of the steps towards such visions to be achieved is proper policy and system comprising safety goals in written and supporting objectives. At Nestle there’s a proper and written safety policy recognized at world standard. It shares its objectives and goals with its employees which helps it in the implementation of such goals easily. It also organizes safety programs and task for the awareness of its employees, providing them the resources to achieve their target. Each and every task includes accountability mechanism and a reward for the employee or employees which is operated under a supervision of an expert. Nestle has developed a group among its employees, for these tasks to be governed, known as SH&E (safety health environment sustainability) whose only objective is to score 100% in quality standard. The development of such group was a major step towards making a safe and healthy environment inside the firm. It is observed that after taking this step a lot of the improvements have been made and a remarkable change has occurred in the statistics before and after the formation of this group. There are three major objectives of SH&E: 1. Excelling in compliance. 2. Delighting our costumers. 3. Driving competitive advantage. Not only is this Nestle organizing as many events regarding a better environment. From workshops to possible safety awareness campaigns and likewise many steps have been taken by Nestle to enhance the employee knowledge. Similarly Environment Day and Earth Day have been observed throughout the departments in which employees plant trees, study the facts regarding changing atmosphere, discuss the measures that should be taken as a counter act and most importantly how an individual can make the environment clean and healthy. Conclusion: All in all Nestle is doing a marvelous job in making its environment healthy and safe. However more workshops and recreational activities can be scheduled in a long year of tiring work and development, so that the goals and objectives towards a better environment can be achieved even more rapidly. This can be done by giving home activities also. In this case each and every employee should be considered.
