Both issues contains legal requirement of transportation and its impact on society. Third issue is also relevant because of the legal issues associated with the airplanes design. 1. SYSTEMS ANALYSIS & OPERATIONS RESEARCH Prepare well-written business systems designs, analyses and other artifacts so as to clarify the purposes, design, construction and operation of an information system There is an increasing trend of view the operations of the business in the form of complete systems that involves input, process, and output along with the feedback (Zairi, 1997). Hence, it has become important to devise proper business system designs (Bocij, Chaffey, Greasley, and Hickie, 2008). The learning objective is very relevant with the three issues discussed previously. All the three issues need proper Information system in order to solve them. The system should collect data and determine the best appropriate way to resolve these issues. Therefore, a report must be prepared in a written form which should describe the plan, analysis and designs for construction and implementation of business information system. The report should be prepared by considering the above issues. For example, the report must ensure a plan which is useful to develop a system in order to find out the appropriate Energy Resources Transit Model. Employ electronic software to enhance oral and written communication about an information system Information systems have taken important place in the daily operations of any organization (Laudon and Laudon, 2010). The three issues being analyzed and discussed can also be related with this learning objective. To develop a proper information system to solve above issues, a suitable software must be designed which is helpful in oral and written communication for an information system. All the issues must be treated using software so best possible solution can be obtained. Outline for a specific system the 5 phases of the system process and 7 dimensions of system process It is important to understand the different phases and dimensions associated with the system process in order to come up with proper systematic solutions for the all issues being discussed. In order to find solution to all issues it is important to understand and comprehend different phases associated with the system process along with the dimensions of the process. Use principles of constituent relations, quality management, project leadership/management to define, organize, and maintain an information system It is essential to design and comprehend the proper constituent relations, quality management, and other related factors associated with the organization and maintenance of different systems in order to find solutions to the three issues being discussed. Quality management and project management along with quality leadership is the basic need for the success of any process or system (Slack Brandon-Jones, and Johnston, 2011). Formulate an optimization problem in deterministic and probabilistic terms This is relevant with the three issues being discussed, as the researcher will try to design the optimization problems in order to come up with optimal solutions. The utilization of optimization analysis is important in order to make sure that all inputs are used in such a manner that the output generated is best for the organizations and other stakeholders. In optimization problems it is tried to construct a problem keeping in view all associated resources and constraints in order to come up with best possible solution (Slack, Chambers, and Johnston, 2010). Use basic graphic method to solve simple optimization problems This is not relevant as the issues will not be solved with the basic graphic model. There will be different variables involved in the analysis of the issues and hence it will be not feasible to use the basic graphical method for solving the optimization problems and finding the optimal solutions. Use deterministic and stochastic models to estimate schedules, create network diagrams and evaluate project budgets This is relevant as the solutions for all three issues will be devised by considering all elements in the system and creating network diagrams at the same time evaluating the project budgets. It will be important to analyze the different constituents of the whole process and system and the relation between them. Apart from this the researcher will also like to analyze the proposed solutions on the basis of the time and budget involved. Demonstrate commitment to stakeholders needs as the ultimate driver of the system process This objective can also be related with all three issues as it is highly important for all involved stakeholders to take their responsibility in the process of finding and implementing solutions. It is highly important for any business or organization to take into consideration the needs and demands of all stakeholders involved in the overall process and system (Slack, Chambers, and Johnston, 2010). 2. ECONOMICS OF INTERNATIONAL TRADE Issues of International Trade which deal with real transactions that involve physical movements of goods and services. The world has become global village and it has become important to understand the issues and challenges associated with the international trade of goods and services (Berg and Lewer, 2007). All the above three issues are relevant with the learning objective. The first issue focuses on the means of transportation which should be used internationally to deliver energy resources across the world which is relevant with this learning objective. Moreover, the wastage of energy resources during transportation is also an issue which is relevant to the learning objective. The second issue is also relevant in a sense that movement of physical goods and services require any sort of transportation such as airplanes, ships which in turn create environmental pollution which is harmful for living organisms. The third issue is relevant in a sense that airplanes use more energy resources to transport goods and services from one place to another. The world is facing energy crises and it’s very drastic situation which need to be solved. Theory of international trade and issues of trade policy Theory of international trade and issues of trade policy is the learning objective which is relevant with all the three issues. It is related with the first objective in a sense that there are some theories which have been developed regarding transportation of energy resources using different means of transportation. Moreover, theories related to wastage of energy resources during its transportation have also been developed. The trade policy regarding energy transportation is already mentioned by the General Agreement on Tariffs and Trade. The second issue is also covered by this learning objective as health issues generated by excretion of toxic materials from transportation. However, the third issue is not relevant with this objective as no trade policies and theories have been mentioned regarding consumption of fuels of aircrafts. Basics of International Finance theory & policy implications The international finance and policy is not relevant with any of the three issues because international finance deals with the interrelation between two countries. It links with the balance of payment, exchange rate, global financial system, foreign direct investment, and the affect of these resources towards international trade (Berg and Lewer, 2007). 3. MIS IN TRANSPORTATION Use IT-enabled management information systems Management Information Systems (MIS) are an important part of today’s organizations (Oz, 2009). The use of IT-enabled management information system in transportation is also an important learning objective. The objective is relevant with the first issue as there must be computer based MIS system which determines the appropriate transportation means to carry energy resources from one place to another across the world. Furthermore, the use of IT-enabled management information system helps in reducing wastage of fuels during transit of energy resources. An effective MIS system determines the possible risk in carrying energy resources via each transportation mean using its intelligence system. The system also warns if there is any wastage of fuels during transportation of energy resources. The second issue is strongly relevant with the this learning objective because the IT-enabled management system helps to reduce health and climatic issues caused by harmful gases produced from vehicles such as airplanes, ships, oil tankers etc. The system can be used to design the vehicles in an efficient way which produces less hazard gases in environment. The third issue is also relevant with the objective because IT-enabled management information system can help to design and develop aircrafts which use less energy to transport goods. The world is already short of non-renewable energy and today’s aircrafts consume more energy resources than any other vehicle. Therefore the system would be useful in designing fuel efficient aircrafts. Who, what, when, where, why, how of IT deployment The objective is relevant with the first issue because it is very important to find out the answers of who, what, when, where, why and how the IT based management system should be used for the means of transportation of energy resources across the globe and wastage of these fuels during transportation. These questions can be answered by international transportation management authorities correctly because they can decide which department should use the MIS system, what should the system look like, and when, where and how it should be used. Similarly, the second and third issues are also relevant with the learning objective because these issues require answering the questions which are necessary in deployment of IT-based MIS .Examples of IT use from industry sectors The objective is relevant with the first issue because examples of information technology which are used by transportation industry would help to identify the successful IT measures. These IT measures can be used to solve the issue regarding means of transportation to transport energy resources and how the wastage of these resources could be stopped. The second issue is also relevant with the learning objective because real examples of use of IT in transportation industry can be used to identify a relevant IT model which is helpful in reducing hazardous gaseous produced by vehicles using energy resources. The third issue also shows its relevancy with the learning objective as the real examples about use of IT in aircraft is also helpful in developing and designing an appropriate aircraft model to reduce its fuel consumption. Contemporary IT deployment for Global Intermodal Freight Transportation The use of modern IT for Global intermodal Freight Transportation is also an important learning objective. The objective is relevant with the first issue because energy resources can be transported through intermodal freight transportation in which goods are packed in containers and these containers are transported through aircrafts, ships, and rails. The use of modern IT in delivering energy resources by Global Intermodal Freight Transportation can help to determine the suitable means of transportation, for instance, whether containers should be carried by rails, aircrafts, or ships. Moreover, the use of modern IT software can help to stop the wastage of energy during intermodal freight transportation. The objective is not relevant with the second objective because IT deployment for global intermodal freight transportation is the transfer of goods in containers using any means of transportation therefore the use of modern IT is not related with health and environment change. The third issue is also not relevant with the objective because the IT deployment for Global intermodal freight transportation does not link with designing of aircrafts which use less fuel. 4. TRANSPORTATION MANAGEMENT Understand the dynamic Transportation Management issues that affect basic transportation systems The objective is relevant with the first issue as transport management issues must be understood in order to find out the suitable means of transportation used to transport energy resources across the world. Furthermore, understanding of these issues also helps to bring the solution for wastage of energy resources during transportation. These issues will give an insight that which transportation mean should be used, when it should be used, and how it should be used. The second and third issues are also relevant with the objective. Understanding of transportation management issues will give an idea about the problems prevailing in transportation industry. Therefore it would be easy to highlight and solve the issue regarding transportation system and health problems caused by environmental pollution. The objective is also relevant with the third issue. The heavy consumption of fuels by aircrafts is also an important issue which needs to be highlighted. Therefore understanding of this issue will help to solve it effectively. Basic principles, skills, and tools of transportation management In order to solve the transportation management issues, basic principles, skills and tools must be known properly (Krishna, 2007). Therefore all the three issues are relevant with this objective. The first issue which focuses on the transit issue of energy resources and wastage of fuels during transportation needs extensive knowledge of principles, skills and tools of transportation management. Knowledge of basic principles of transport management helps to address the issues, such as transit issue of energy resources. Transportation managements’ skills are helpful in solving the issues. These skills might include analytical and communication skills. The second and third issues are also relevant with the objective as these issues also need the basic knowledge of principles, skills and tools of transportation management to solve them. Identify issues clearly, formulate hypotheses, collect data, and evaluate those issues All the three issues are strongly relevant with this learning objective because the objective demands clear identification of issues first. All the three issues regarding energy and transport management have already been identified. After identification of issues, formulation of hypothesis is necessary. The hypothesis is an intelligent guess made to solve the problem and it might be wrong or right. Data is then collected to clearly identify the real causes of issues, for instance, collection of relevant data to identify the major reason of environmental pollution by vehicles. These issues are then evaluated and analyzed and major steps are taken to solve these issues. This is the scientific method to solve issues and these three issues can also be solved scientifically Understanding of leadership and ethics through your course work The objective is relevant with the all the three objective in a sense that these issues require ethical framework to solve them. For instance, the first objective which is related with transit of energy resources and its wastage during transportation must be solved by considering ethics. Similarly leadership is also an important aspect to address and solve these issues. The techniques and skills which are needed by leaders to identify and solve these issues are very significant. 5. BUSINESS LOGISTICS Prepare students to be logistics managers It is important to come up with effective and efficient logistics management strategy to come u with competitive edge over other competitors (Vogt, Pienaar, Wit, 2006). It is relevant with the first issue as it involves the logistics management with reference to the transportation and distribution of the fuel and energy. It can also be somewhat related to the second and third issue as different vehicles and airplanes are involved in the logistics and distribution and thus it is required to come up with proper logistics management strategies to avoid any negative influence on the environment. Control efficiently the movement of goods, materials and other resources using processes that instill time and place utility in the moved product or the developing services, from beginning of supply chain to its end The objective is relevant with the first issue because transportation of energy resources must be delivered in an efficient way. The energy resources should not be wasted during transportation from one country to another and the right means of transportation must be used so that resources can be supplied safely. The second issue is not relevant with the objective because the whole supply chain process does not link with the health hazards and climatic pollution generated by the vehicles used in transportation of goods, materials and other resources. The third problem is relevant with objective. The movement of goods, materials and resources from beginning to end of the supply chain always seek the system through which transportation cost can be reduced such as less use of fuels by aircrafts. The logistics channel of the supply chain The objective is relevant with the first issue because transit of energy resources from one country to another across the world requires one of the channels. These channels might include vehicles (ships, airplanes, trains) or pipelines. However the second issue is irrelevant with the objective. The second objective is related with the harmful gaseous generated from vehicles and it is not focused on the logistics channels of supply chain. While the third issue is related with the efficient use of fuel by aircrafts which is relevant with the objective because logistic channel of the supply chain should be cost effective and use less energy. 6. INTERNATIONAL BUSINESS & TRANSPORTATION LAW Rights and duties of participants in business transactions, legal and practical issues that arise in international business transactions It has become important for the organizations and businesses to understand and follow different laws and regulations associated with international business and trade (Schaffer, Agusti, and Earle, 2009), same is true for transportation management. The first issue is relevant with the objective because there is a duty of partner to send energy resources to other country through proper transportation channel. The transportation mean which is being used to deliver energy resources should be in a proper condition so that no wastage of energy resources during transportation can be ensured. Moreover, legal and practical issues for transit of energy resources are also very significant. The second and third issues are also relevant with the objective. There should be a duty of participants to ensure the environment safety while sending the goods and materials from one place to another. The legal and practical issues in international business transactions are also linked with this issue. Moreover, the world is short of energy but airplanes consume heavy fuels while transporting goods. This is one of the legal and practical issues arise in international business transaction. Issues and problems that faced when engaged in international transportation and business All the three issues are relevant with the objective because these three issues are being faced when engaged in international transportation business. The first issue focuses on the transportation mean which should be used to deliver energy resource across the group. The wastage of energy resources during transportation is also an important issue facing by international transportation. Similarly, the health and climatic issue from poisonous gases generated by vehicles during transportation of goods is also being faced in international transportation and business. The third issue is related with the consumption of fuels by aircrafts. The aircrafts are using more energy resources and hence the problem is also in international transportation and business. Practical and legal risks The objective is relevant with the first issue as it contains legal risks that how to transport goods and other resources from one place to another. There are some legal requirements which need to be considered before sending energy resources to other party. Similarly, pollution produced by vehicles carrying goods also contains practical and legal risks. Third issue is also relevant because of the legal issues associated with the airplanes design.
