Poverty affects children’s attainment of their careers and realization of their ambition through education (Biddle 3). Such scenarios lead to the disadvantaged children from an impoverished background to have a high risk of dropping out of schools because their parents lack adequate resources in paying school fees. Although some nations can control such adverse effects through initiating learning programs such as free or subsidized education to all citizens compared to U.S, the disparity is enormous. This paper explicates the effects of poverty on children in their educational progress and background.

Inequalities portrayed in schools from various states throughout America emanates from numerous factors (Biddle 2). For instance, the different financial allocation in improving the quality of resources in public institutions depicts how it is important to alleviate the learning standards at an affordable cost. However, the country should adopt cognitive policies that will favor both students in private and public schools to allow children from an impoverished background to achieve their dreams. Nonetheless, such problems swirl around insufficiency of resources and capital regardless of the socioeconomic class of their background. With the initiating progressive of educational system in U.S, the federal government should inculcate the culture of industrial democracy that can nurture the talents of people at a tender age. Such scenarios will enhance provision of educational opportunities when identified early enough and consequently relieve parents from massive educational burden through government support.

Moreover, the provision of scholarships from various government agencies and learning institutions promotes the educational sector especially on children from a poor background (Maholmes and King 48). However, lack of adequate sensitization on parents and guidance on the benefits of education among children requires full exploitation to attract more kids to school. Additionally, impoverished children find it difficult to adopt speaking fluent English especially among immigrants and interacting with their fellows in school thus regarding themselves as poor people in the society. Such situations cause the deficiency stricken community to have a negative perception towards education compared to the rich teens who adopt quickly with the language used in schools.

Furthermore, the wealthy and powerful society considers themselves superior to the disadvantage children from the disadvantaged community resulting to the development of stigmatization (Maholmes and King 199). This causes the wealthy teens to boast of their parents’ properties in schools thereby diminishing the deprived schoolmates resulting in lowering their self-esteem that might lead to school dropout. Considering such inequalities from a diverse background of pupils, the prosperous pupils can easily uphold corruption and influence their performances in schools causing the lower income students to give up in academic completion. Nevertheless, the education sector in U.S encounters the challenges of political and ideological influence thereby neglecting the disadvantageous community who in turn regard themselves as outcasts in the society. Such scenarios derail the cognitive approach to include all people in the educational reforms and to prevent the inequalities to access of education.

Nevertheless, the impact of income inequality among parents causes their children to attend to different schools some of which offer a low standard of education (Biddle 9). The enormous gap between the poor and the rich depicts certain implications in the quality of services provided to private schools perform better than public schools. Furthermore, unequal distribution of learning materials such as textbooks hence causing the disparity in performances as children from the wealthy class in society performs better than those from the marginalized community are learning. Besides, the Americans find it difficult to consider themselves as a poor nation and such mentality ignores the fact that the nations have low-income families regardless of their cultural heritage. Poverty significantly affects children from unstable families to realize their ambitions such as participating in extra curriculum activities in schools because of lack of exposure hence preferring to learn from their homes.

Additionally, racism plays a major role in resulting to school dropout coupled with their skin color. Such situations result in children perceiving themselves as an outcast and unworthy in the society (Lamy 33). These effects cause the education sector to experience difficulty in curbing the vice since everybody has a right to access knowledge in learning institutions. The association of racism in schools with poverty lowers the moral of other students in acquiring tutoring as the situation results in the demand of separate learning institutions according to their race. Unfortunately, the majority of impoverished blacks in U.S are immigrants hence considered by the whites as poor people who came to their nation to seek for greener pasture. However, the association of some regions with poverty causes the stigma of people coming from such areas to have trouble in accessing to education hence forcing them to reject their attendance of individual schools.

The emergence of ethnicity causes significant impact on children attending schools. The consideration of some tribes as impoverished community results in some kids rejecting or abandoning schools because of their socioeconomic status. Consequently, the assumption of the political class that the nation has eradicated poverty neglects the progress of the nation because of the unemployment rate in the country (Lamy 35). Some children experience problems in obtaining their basic needs such as education, forcing them to help their parent to get resources that would enable them to meet their daily needs. Such situation would cause an individual to drop out school because of their circumstances in life. The isolation of pupils from the certain ethnic group or even according to their color in teaching institutions lowers their morale and interest in learning. Such scenarios foster hatred in the community among the ethnic groups causing the establishment of schools according to ethnic background.

Children emanating from poor lifestyle find themselves engaging in illegal activities such as theft and violent undertakings that might endanger their life with the intention of raising school fees (Jackson 198). However, highly trained and qualified teachers teach schools that have many wealthy students with the intention of receiving better payment than schools with numerous impoverished children. This situation results in poor services in learning institutions as wealthy students’ benefits from priority over the disadvantageous pupils because of the professional’s interest in capital. Consequently, the prejudice associated with kids emanating from poor background did not understand information faster and considered as an illiterate result in stigmatization towards impoverished society.

The rationale on the effects of poverty on education occurs since the government lacks appropriate policies in curbing the vice of discrimination in the training of future leaders (Jackson 205). Policy makers contribute immensely towards the disadvantageous children because of lack of sensitizing and publishing specific bills regarding equality in education despite the financial instability. Moreover, the emergence of different examination tests in determining the progress of individuals to attain the required marks of going to higher learning institutions favors the wealthy kids. With the rich students obtaining priority in acquiring work, the disadvantageous people find it difficult to obtain a white-collar job because they lack connections even if they have passed their examinations. Although the rate of poverty has increased worldwide, the U.S provides little incentives on disadvantageous kids since most of them are independent hence finding it challenging to obtain a quality education. However, inadequate dieting among impoverished students causes them to have health problems that result to some of them spending most of their time in hospital hence affecting their performances. In addition, their living conditions mentally affect their schoolwork as they encounter a lack of concentration in class as they think of their life challenges. Interestingly, the U.S has the highest population with poor with children experiencing poverty among the advanced nations. Such magnitude piles pressure to the government to provide a conducive environment that would foster quality education. However, tolerance of corruption derails such progress hence affecting the equal distribution of resources to schools that ultimately upsets majorly poor children.

Although teenagers originate from the diverse cultural background, some norms and beliefs of families deter the comprehensive efforts of the government to elevate poverty (Kiernan and Mensah 320). For instance, some communities prefer to educate the male child than the female ones since they perceive that the girls would be married, and the male ones would remain with the wealth and help the society. Moreover, the occurrence of natural calamities such as the death of parents may prompt a student to leave school because of inevitable circumstances. Such outcome may cause children to leave school and search for their daily living hence resulting to a major challenge in school dropout. Furthermore, the students who manage to return to school find it difficult to obtain a good grade because most of the syllabus already taught. Unfortunately, the impoverished children in the society face the impact of occupational status in the classroom because of their ragged uniform associated with poverty. Consequently, the wealthy kids in schools interact mostly among themselves thus making the disadvantageous ones feel neglected and ultimately affecting their overall performance in class.

The federal government should inculcate the culture of implementing the regulation of income by stipulating the minimum wage income, in particular among the impoverished families. Furthermore, parental guidance is required to enhance their living standards from the poor society with the aim of educating their children despite the cultural background. Ultimately, the government should integrate all the stakeholders within the educational sector to alleviate the level of poverty that affects children performance in schools and provide solutions.
