The Obamacare has been said to mirror Romneycare in 2006 in Massachusetts. The program was so successful that the Bush administration sent a letter applauding their efforts. Several states have since contemplated replicating the same. Romney said that, "My own preference is to let each state fashion its own program to meet the distinct needs of its citizens. States could follow the Massachusetts model if they choose, or they could develop plans of their own. These plans, tested in the state laboratories of democracy, could be evaluated, compared, improved upon, and adopted by others."
Obamacare has been widely debated by both experts and those who have no inkling what the Act states. Some have deemed it to be a mega-scam while others have deemed it a master stroke of a policy. It is important to first and foremost state that the economists don’t know how Obamacare will affect the economy. According to Jay Bryson there’s a wide range of opinion on the effects of Obamacare especially in the long term. According to a survey conducted on 230 NABE members it showed that 30% said it would hurt the economy while 18% said it would help the economy, and 42% said Obamacare would not impact the economy substantially.
Jason Bryson further stated that despite the fact that Obamacare will not lead to economic growth does not mean that it will not have an impact at all. One of the anticipated impacts of Obamacare is the substantial reduction of the unisnusred people. The estimated numbers of uninsured are estimated to reduce by about 25 Million over the next 10 years, as the people are encouraged to buy health insurance.
