Additionally, the essence of gold is that no one can make more of it than what already is in the ground (Alan, Javier & Robin, 2010). As a result, this will help curb inflation. Another advantage of gold as a currency is in helping policymakers using it as a measure of investor’s concern about the fate of other currencies. Moreover, there has been increased investment in gold by new investors than before, and this has made it easier to buy and sell bullion (Alan, Javier & Robin, 2010). In addition, the gold as a currency has shown that it is not easy to be debased.
On the other hand, there are arguments against the use of gold as a currency. The argument is that alternative currency will still have its own problems. For example, the Eurozone has fractured bond market while there is also no free trade on China’s renminbi (Alan, Javier & Robin, 2010). The other argument is that gold currency is prone to deflation based on its continuous rise in price. ...Chapter 5: Where Can We Look to Explain Verbal Misunderstandings? A Reaction Paper The proffered a comprehensive discussion of verbal communication, specifically delving into issues concerning its use in context, and structure and content, among others. I liked the contents and information presented in the chapter because of the relevance of the issues discussed and the applicability and importance of being aware of the theoretical framework to ensure better understanding in communication across borders. I am now more aware that precautions should be observed when communicating with others, especially those people from diverse cultural orientations or those who do not belong to the same...

...? The speech given by Benjamin Freedman talks about what really happened during World War I and World War II and how Jews lied to get nations into the massive wars not only once but twice. He says that both of these tragic wars happened because of the Zionists and how their propaganda to keep their businesses thriving led to killings. It was meant to be an eye-opener for those in the audience as he said that no one believed him the first time that he argued his point in front of people. It was also meant to be a warning to prevent a third World War. Such being his objective, then he has so far succeeded. That he was a former Jew and an insider makes what he is saying believable. There is no doubt that there are things about... The speech...

... Judea Declares War on Germany and Freedman’s Speech It is ironic to learn that certain circumstances in history had happened because people allowed them to. It is very sad to realize that the Holocaust was not mainly an evil act by the Germans; rather, it started as an act of defense against nations that collaborated against it. These are the ideas I have formed after reading two intriguing articles –Judea’s declaration of war against Germany and Freedman’s speech. Thanks to the information superhighway, students like me can access such documents that have historical significance. Upon reading Judea’s move against Germany, I find it strange because what has been impressed upon me is that Germany was always on the offensive side... Judea...

...? Reaction to the lecture: Dr. Michael Brown’s illuminating lecture on new explorations in the outer solar system has really captured my imagination. His interesting and humor-filled account of the discovery of ‘Eris’ – a planet-like object orbiting the sun in an extremely elliptical pattern – has been a pleasure to listen to. In the lecture, Brown talks of how Eris is a conundrum to astronomers, for it displays characteristics of both a planet and an asteroid. Similar in size to that of Pluto, possessing a proper spherical shape and majorly comprised of rock, it qualifies to be a planet. On the other hand, its placement within the Kyper belt makes it part of other debris floating in this space. Its long distance away from Sun... Reaction to...

...Holocaust: Another Horror Story? The main objective of the paper is to present a view regarding the recorded interview ofone of the known personalities exploring the issues related to the holocaust. David Cole was born a Jew and with that information stated there is that biased air which surrounded the start of the documentary interview. Slowly Cole set up the plot of how the film will go. There are quite a few points about the Holocaust itself which were questioned. It was a little shocking that though Cole was a Jew, now an atheist, he remained to side on finding the truth and not what has been published and “revealed” by researches. There are irregularities with the reports that are being disseminated to the public....

...A Reaction to ‘The Experience of Space and Time’ by David Harvey By merely observing the events taking place in a society under time and spatial constraints, it does occur that David Harvey has established a remarkable point regarding the phenomenon of time-space compression which he claims to have had significant impact upon the state of postmodern affairs. Even if to many this appears unreadily conspicuous, the idea of progress over time in several aspects of living inevitably shifts the state of thought with reference to dealing with the global economy, culture, socio-political activities, as well as technology and other fields in the process of acquiring the characteristic traits of postmodernity. As the gradual...

...Expo: Magic of the White Reaction Paper Supervisor: Assignment Due Expo: Magic of the White One ofthe first things that struck me about Expo: Magic of the White City was that it was such a different time than the one we live in today. There was no evidence of the technology that is prevalent everywhere we go today, despite the fact that the exposition itself was about technology and achievements. At the exposition, people had a chance to really engage in the wonders of the world that was around them, without being distracted by all the trappings of modern day life. It seemed like an amazing chance to reflect on the accomplishments of humankind and the direction that the future would take. An astounding thing about the film... Magic of the...

... 15 October Reaction Paper Youseef has identified some very technical ways in which the managers take advantage of the forced ranking i.e. by intentionally keeping low performing workers to fire when needed. However, such strategies are very uncommon to be implemented, and generally, managerial focus is on identifying the strengths and weaknesses of individual employees to reward or penalize them accordingly. Although stringent form of forced ranking may be avoided, it’s fragile form is, in a way, inevitable in any organization. The management of an organization constantly reviews the performance of all employees whether or not there is a forced ranking mechanism in the organization. Even if employees are not ranked according... 15 October...

...Reaction Paper on “The Portland Edge: Challenges and Success in Growing Communities” by Connie P. Ozawa “ThePortland Edge: Challenges and Success in Growing Communities” by Connie P. Ozawa is a book that presents Portland as a city with a desirable growth. However, other scholars deem the city to be a victim of heavy planning due to its ever rising cost of accommodation. Thus, scholars who have lived to study the region present a relatively balanced perspective at the current Portland; with explanations of the most recent conditions in terms of institutions and people who have been significant in shaping it. Due to the region’s innovative approach to development and growth, Portland is an appropriate...

...My Biggest Fear Situation Fear is an emotion when a person’s body feels outside distraction and responds to it aggressively and enormously. The feeling of fear changes emotional condition of a person and leads to certain physical changes. The kind of fear I remember clearly is probably one of the most common for people, because it was fear of public speaking. I was supposed to deliver a speech in front of the entire classroom in another five minutes. It was dreadful for me because a thought of me speaking in front of the audience made my knees shake. I was sitting at my desk holding a piece of paper in my hands that were sweaty and were constantly shaking. I also felt extremely hot and extremely needed a gulp of fresh...
