Step 1: Add an e-mail account
Before sending and receiving e-mail messages you must add and configure an Outlook e-mail account.
Click on the File tab. Under Account Information click Add Account.

Outlook supports three types of accounts, i.e., Microsoft Exchange, POP3, and IMAP. Your Internet service provider (ISP) or email administrator will provide you with the configuration information which you must use to set up your email account in Outlook. Email accounts are contained in a profile. A profile consists of accounts, data files, and settings that specify where your email messages are saved. Your new profile is created automatically when you run Outlook for the first time.

Step 2: Create a new e-mail message
Outlook facilitates you to communicate with an umpteen number of recipients with a rich set of features and customizations.
2.1 Under the Home tab in Mail, click New E-mail present in the New group.

Step 3: Forward or reply to an e-mail message
Under the Home tab, in the Respond group, click Reply, Reply All, or Forward.

Note: The name of the tab depends on whether the message is selected in the message list or opened in its window.

3.1 To add a recipient, click in the To, Cc, or Bcc box and enter the recipient.
3.2 To remove a name from the To and Cc lines, click the name and then press DELETE.

Step 4: Add an attachment to an e-mail message
Any type of file can be attached to an e-mail message. Moreover, other Outlook items, such as contacts, messages, or tasks can be included with messages that you send:
- Create a new message, or for an existing message, click Reply, Reply All, or Forward.
- On the Message tab present in the message window, under the Include group, click Attach File.

Step 5: Open or save an e-mail message attachment
You can open an attachment from the Reading Pane or an open message and you may save it to a disk drive. If a message has more than one attachment, you can save multiple attachments as a group or one by one.
Double-click the attachment to open it. In the Actions group, under the Attachments tab, click Save As. You can also right-click the attachment, and then click Save As.

Step 6: Add an e-mail signature to messages
You can create personalized signatures for your e-mail messages that comprise text, images, a logo, your Electronic Business Card, or even an image of your handwritten signature.
