To create new modes of communication during this period, the novelists sought to adopt other forms of prose (Campbell, 2008). This served to move the literature written during this period to a greater height. For example, the fiction applied in this case depicts how the writer adopted an essay-like structure in developing the short story.
This essay discusses that the theme or meaning that a particular poem expresses is often interwoven in the structure, diction, and words used. Whereas in some poems it easy to single out the theme, some require deep and extensive analysis that goes beyond the superficial meaning of words and figures of speech used.
Emerson and Melville define issues such as good versus evil in society and the impact that the depravity of human nature will take on the human race as a whole. The importance, then, is for people to think for themselves and to stand up for what they believe in, without compromise, and without fear of being destroyed by an evil figure.
