This poem harbors a range of meanings and underlying tones, depending on the depth of one’s analysis. At first glance, the poem seems simple and mono-toned; it seems to be an outright criticism of a social issue. But on a deeper look, one can decipher other meanings which are also prominently displayed in the words and imagery of the poem.
The paper tells that the reader becomes acquainted with the “raven” whose perching action the man notes with some intent focus prior to a peculiar observation of the “bird beguiling my sad fancy into smiling.” The narrator expresses a feeling of comfort for the amusement toward the raven implies a sign of a company to become relieved with somehow of the awfully sad remembrances of the past.
As the paper outlines, there is loud music being played inside and the atmosphere is very relaxed and jovial. The music seems to be belonging to the dance genre and is fast-paced and energetic. Everyone seems to be relaxing and having fun as some of them are dancing while others are singing along with the song.
The Iliad is an ancient story that analyzes the actions and motivations of many relatable characters. These characters are driven by their strengths and weaknesses. In this story, I see how the human psyche has remained constant throughout time. Ego, greed, loyalty, and the greater good is a constant theme that the characters possess.
The two plays, Iphigenia at Ilium and Iphigenia at Aulis seem to define similar storylines given the common name of Iphigenia shared in both titles of the plays. However, the two plays tell entirely different stories and each version of the plays is totally radically different from the other version.
