This is when compared to the contemporary art that is part of the modern painting and printmaking. He was able to capture his audience with the surprise of isolation. This means that his work was not in the market or was not a product of re-revolution of any art work. The raft of the medusa, for instance, was unique and based on the military concept of lithography. This was unique, and his inspirations were very selective. Van Gogh, as an impressionist artist was often interested in the ordinary subjects and exhibit human experience and perception as well as a sense of movement in their paintings. He painted his art works with watercolors when he was little in school. He was well skilled in the creation of multi-figure compositions, which he later on turned into oil paintings so as to increase the liveliness and the freshness in his work.
