Sarah’s Key by Tatiana De Rosnay Sarah’s Key by Tatiana De Rosnay Tatiana De Rosnay presents an emotional book that focuses on France’s sad experiences. The most captivating part about this book is the two stories that are told concurrently. Sarah’s experiences together with the contemporary journalist are emotional to the readers. Tatiana De Rosnay offers a fundamental insight on France and the Second World War. Reading the book makes the readers acknowledge the intensity of wars on vulnerable people, for example, children.

It also reveals the hostility that people might have experienced because of their diverse identities in France. Certain scenes in this book suggest that France was apologetic of its role in the painful collaboration. Tatiana De Rosnay alleges that Julia Jarmond wished to apologize about her ignorance on the issue (Rosnay, 2007).The interweaving plot allows one to understand deals about the collaboration that several people choose to avoid in their conversations. The scene that explains the terrible conditions that people had to endure are expressive.

These scenes provide details highlighting the plight of families living within internment camps. One empathizes with Jews because of the trauma experienced. The involvement of the French government in the ordeal is a disturbing revelation. Tatiana De Rosnay suggests that there was a significant separation of the families once they reached the camps. After the separation, children were sent to the gas chambers. These revelations play fundamental roles in the society regardless of the time that elapsed after they occurred (Rosnay, 2007).

The scheme to reduce the number of Jews in France should never occur in the future. It is necessary to preserve lives regardless of their respective heritage. ReferencesRosnay, T. (2007). Sarahs Key. New York: St. Martins Press.
