Personal Style of WriterPersonal style differs from one writer to another. It is the writing style that makes a writer unique and distinct from others. One’s personal style in writing varies depending on who the readers will be. One makes sure that the words and phrases used are appropriate, clear and do not confuse the readers. Aside from the right choice of words, one ensures that there are no spelling and grammatical errors. One gives utmost importance to the first paragraph of the written work.

The reason behind this is that the first paragraph should capture the interest of the readers. If the beginning of the article is boring, those reading it will most likely not be encouraged to continue. Furthermore, one always makes it a point to use the active voice in writing. In writing about something which one is not too knowledgeable about, one sees to it that additional research is done on the topic. One does not rely on what little he knows. Educating the readers is as important as entertaining them.

It helps make an outline first of what one is going to write because it organizes one’s thoughts. Making an outline is like brainstorming on what one wants to include in the article. This eliminates unnecessary words, sentences and paragraphs which tend to make the written work wordy. One’s personal style is direct to the point. One does not utilize old clichés or idioms. If one is to use a figure of speech, it must be original and not something which is used by most writers. It should be easily understood and must not leave the readers perplexed as to what one intends to communicate.

One cannot expect that his personal style will be appreciated by all. Everyone has his own tastes and preferences.
