A Letter to Louise Bourgeois Your magnificent work has always left in awe. I have always credited you for redefining the and understanding of art. Irrespective of the fact that some of your work was made more, than four decade ago its meaning remains clearly spelt in the different sculptures. The fact that your works remain motivational is one of the things that intrigue me most. After reading your biography, I was able to relate with your work better. It must have been painful and traumatic to watch someone impose herself into your family.

I now understand the reason behind the sense of solitude, anxiety, and betrayal that I have always associated with your art works. Your artistic work, fully describes your emotion.Being an artist, i admire your courage by the fact that you were always able to express yourself in your works. For me, I at times feel stupid since I failed to express myself fully using my paintings. I thus admire the way you made use of art to bring out your emotions, which has made your art, remain significant and an inspiration to contemporary artists.

Your 2002 work, which was titled Give and Take, was quite an inspiration. The sculpture’s shape and weight fully defined the dilemma that people go through when deciding what to give or take. The works also challenge me as an artist who had initially been indecisive of what I wanted to do with my life. Something that I have always wondered is how you managed to go through life, and make such magnificent art works irrespective of the challenges you went through particularly in your childhood.

Every time I reexamine your work, I get a clear picture of how art can be used to express ones emotions. You work will for sure remain important to contemporary and future artists.
